🌱 SHOP-BOUGHT FERTILISER — IS IT REALLY HELPING YOUR LAWN?

💚 So what should you be looking for? With the hot, sunny weather we’ve been having, choosing the right fertiliser is more important than ever.

A lot of shop-bought lawn fertilisers are relatively low in nitrogen, meaning they can have a very limited fertilising effect. Even more importantly, applying the wrong fertiliser during hot, sunny conditions can actually burn and stress your grass. ☀️🔥

Shop bought lawn fertilisers also contain iron sulphate, commonly used for moss control. Do you need to kill moss in sun? No. While iron sulphate can have its place, applying it in strong sunshine will leave your lawn looking worse rather than better.

A good-quality, scorch-protected slow-release fertiliser is designed to feed your lawn gradually rather than releasing everything at once. The granules can remain relatively inactive until moisture reaches them, helping to reduce the risk of scorching and allowing nutrients to become available when conditions are right.

That stored nutrition can help your lawn burst back into life and recover from the stress of drought.

🌱 THIS IS WHY WE TEST IT ON OUR OWN LAWN FIRST… 👀

Watch the transition from straw-like, dry grass to lush green lawn. 🌱💚

This isn’t a before-and-after from two different lawns — this is the same lawn, at the same time, with one section treated and one section left untreated.

And the results? 👀

The difference is pretty hard to miss!

The untreated section has remained dry and straw-like, while the treated area has stayed noticeably greener and healthier.

We’re always testing new products and treatments on our own lawn before offering them to our customers. If we don’t know it works, we don’t believe we should be charging you for it.

💧 The wetting agent helps water pe*****te the soil more effectively and improves moisture availability to the grass.

This will now be available as an additional treatment alongside our regular fertiliser and w**d control, particularly for lawns needing a helping hand after dry weather.

🌱 THE RESULTS ARE IN! 👀

We’ve been trialling a new treatment on our own lawn — and we’re genuinely impressed with the results!

At Go Green Lawn Care, we believe you shouldn’t pay for something unless we know it actually works. So rather than simply offering a new treatment to our customers, we tested it ourselves first. 💚

💧 So, what have we been testing?

A specialist wetting agent designed to help water pe*****te the soil more effectively and improve moisture retention.

Our own lawn is a pretty tough one to manage. It’s fully south-facing with virtually no shade, one side has extremely hard ground, and we have fruit trees taking plenty of nutrients from the soil. 🌳

We’re also on a water meter, so we wanted to find a way of helping the lawn cope with dry conditions without constantly needing to water it.

👀 LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE!

We deliberately left the end of the lawn untreated so we could compare the results.

You can almost see the exact line where the sprayer stopped!

The difference in colour, moisture retention and overall condition has been fantastic. 🌱💧

And the best part? This wasn’t just a theory — we’ve seen the difference on our own lawn.

The treatment does need to be watered in for around 30 minutes after application, followed by watering every few days to get the best results.

🌿 AND YES… WE’RE NOW OFFERING IT!

Following our trial, we’re now introducing this as an additional treatment for our customers, particularly to help lawns recover after periods of drought and dry weather.

Our normal fertiliser and w**d control treatments are still working exceptionally well, but this wetting agent can be a fantastic addition to help your lawn bounce back and make better use of the moisture available.

We tested it on our own lawn first — now we’re confident enough to offer it to yours. 💚

Your lawn might not be looking this green right now?!
🌱 Don’t panic – your lawn will be okay! 💚

If your lawn is looking a little brown or tired in this hot, dry weather, don’t worry. Grass is incredibly resilient and has simply gone dormant to protect itself from the heat.

The good news? It won’t take much for it to bounce back once cooler temperatures and rainfall return. 🌦️

In the meantime, give your lawn the best chance by:
✔️ Mowing on a higher setting to protect the grass.
✔️ Watering in the evening or at night, when it’s cooler and less water is lost to evaporation.
✔️ Being patient – your lawn is tougher than it looks!

A little care now will help your lawn recover beautifully when the weather changes. 🌿
