🟧⚫ Some of the locals are saying it’s the best comeback since Istanbul… ⚽️⚫🟧

This one has been some journey.

We got brought in halfway through a full house renovation after the previous builder had completely lost control of the job. Right place. Right time. Right team. 🟧⚫

What we walked into can only be described as a build from hell. Poor workmanship, problem after problem and months of sorting out issues that should never have existed in the first place.

Fast forward six months…

The house is finished and the clients have moved in with their young family. Around a month later than originally planned, but finished properly, and that’s what matters. 🟧

I push and push every single day and every one of the lads at JDC, along with all of our subcontractors, has given absolutely everything. Early mornings, late nights and every type of weather thrown at us. Not one complaint. Just hard work and determination. ⚫🟧

We’ve battled some of the worst workmanship we’ve ever come across, solved countless problems and found ways to save the client both time and money wherever possible.

The client and I have had endless messages going into the night, making decisions every step of the way. That’s what it takes to get a project like this over the line.

It’s been tough, stressful and demanding, but it’s also been an absolute pleasure.

I’m incredibly proud of every single person involved.

🟧⚫️ Last year’s soakaway installation by the JDC team. 🟧⚫️

A 26m × 2m × 1.2m soakaway taking shape, with the lads loading in Type 3 aggregate.

The excavation measured 62.4m³, and once filled with Type 3 aggregate, the voids between the stone provide approximately 18,700 litres of underground water storage. That’s the equivalent of storing nearly 19 tonnes of water beneath the surface before it gradually infiltrates into the surrounding ground.

It’s the kind of work that nobody sees once it’s’s finished, but it’s a vital part of protecting sites from surface water and reducing the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall.

🟠⚫ Another interesting project underway in Liverpool, where we’ve been carrying out the enabling works for the transformation of an existing building into a new state of the art padel facility. ⚫🟠

🟠 The scope included the design, fabrication, and installation of five structural steel wall supports, creating the temporary stability needed for the existing roof to be removed safely. ⚫

🟠 With the supports now in place, the project is ready to move into the next stage of construction, bringing Liverpool one step closer to a fantastic new venue for the city’s growing padel community. 🟠⚫

Bringing this incredible renovation in Aughton to a close 🟧⬛

A lot of time and precision went into getting the brick slip detailing exactly right. On a new build, everything is designed around brick sizes from the start, but with a retrofit it’s a completely different challenge 🟧⬛

From window reveals to pillar widths and existing openings, every measurement had to be carefully worked out and adjusted 🟧 It was more time consuming than expected, but with the right process and attention to detail, we achieved the best possible finish ⬛🟧
