What is an EMAQ Report?
An EMAQ (Environmental Management and Assessment Questionnaire) Report is a technical assessment used to demonstrate that a commercial kitchen ventilation and odour control system has been designed to minimise the impact of cooking fumes, smoke, grease and odours on neighbouring properties.
The report assesses the type of cooking being carried out, the level of odour risk, the proposed extraction and filtration equipment, discharge height, discharge velocity and overall system design. It ensures the ventilation system complies with current environmental guidance, including DEFRA and local authority planning requirements.
Many local councils request an EMAQ Report as part of a planning application for new restaurants, takeaways, cafés and commercial kitchens. The report provides planners and Environmental Health Officers with the information they need to determine whether the proposed extraction system is suitable for the location.
Fusion Hot Ltd can prepare a professional EMAQ Report tailored to your project, including ventilation calculations, odour risk assessment, equipment specifications, discharge details and recommendations to help support planning approval.
