I replaced these old clunkers last week as part of a kitchen re-fit. The really old rewireable board was under the stairs (the other side of the wall) so all the cables were extended and incorporated into this dual stacker in the garage.
No pictures of the kitchen re-fit though. Sorry.

Sorted this saggy cable out today. A few years ago the main bunch of cables were secured to the catenary wire between the buildings by myself with steel tie wraps but some months later a Sky installer rocked up on his horse, lassoed an additional cable across, and secured it either end with a couple of plastic tie wraps. Plastic tie wraps don’t fare well with UV rays from the sun, as you can see from the first picture.

We removed this Honeywell Smartfit wiring centre and controls this week as the customer wanted a new Hive thermostat. The Smartfit system was an extra low voltage system with plug in zone valves and thermostats that you don’t see that often. This meant the system needed new 230v zone valves and a cylinder stat (and some other fancy plumbing stuff).
I installed the new wiring centre in a more accessible location with the Hive receiver adjacent to it. (I love those Timeguard wiring centres - plenty of room inside and enough cable entry clamps.)
It’s not always fancy light fittings and shiny sockets at MDC towers.
