Another planning approval secured!
We're delighted to have helped bring new life to this locally listed building in Fazeley, Tamworth. The approved scheme combines three historic properties into one beautiful family home, along with a carefully designed rear extension that creates bright, open-plan living spaces while respecting the building's character and heritage. It's always rewarding to see historic buildings adapted for modern living and given a sustainable future.

PLANNING SUBMITTED – ACHILL, TAMWORTH ✨📐
A project I’ve absolutely loved working on.
The aim was simple: respect the building’s rich heritage whilst introducing carefully considered contemporary design. Achill has a fascinating history, originating as part of the Victorian villa Sunnycroft, before its significant Edwardian extension in 1904 and later division into two dwellings in 1926.
The property retains many beautiful Victorian and Arts & Crafts influences and makes an important contribution to the historic character of Ashby Road.
Our proposals include a sensitive side extension, a reimagined entrance porch, and a striking contemporary glass bay window—bringing light, space and modern living together with traditional architecture.
Now submitted for planning approval. 🤞

PLANNING APPROVAL!
After almost two years, two pre apps, and a huge amount of persistence, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve received planning approval for one of the most unusual schemes we’ve ever been appointed to design — a funicular running over a 35 metre rock face in Dartmouth.
Access to the old Harbour Master’s House was previously around 185 steep steps — challenging for the elderly, impractical for everyday living (especially if you’ve forgotten the milk), and a serious concern for emergency access.
Designing a solution that works with the landscape rather than against it meant navigating visual impact, landscaping, car and lift design, and creating platforms that respond to the existing geology. A complex challenge — but an incredibly rewarding one. All in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Huge thanks to Dart Tree Consultancy, Copper Tops, Ecologic, Joe Musselwhite and Our Place Design for their work

Sometimes we get asked if we take on small projects — and the truth is, if it sparks our curiosity, absolutely.
For us, “interesting” means having the freedom to explore what’s possible within your brief and your budget. Because even the smallest shift in a room can completely change how you feel in it.
A fresh pair of eyes can open up a space in ways you might never expect. That’s the part we love — and the part that matters most to you.
We’re also embracing AI as a powerful new tool. You either move with it, or it moves without you. So we sketch a scheme, build it in 3D, and then bring it to life with warm, realistic AI detail.
It’s still your space — just seen through a new lens.

A new project taking shape at an old Police House in Staffordshire — and yes, we’re bringing shipping containers into the grounds of a listed building.
These modular units are seriously underrated. With conservation fully supportive, we’re creating a temporary, low impact installation with minimal footings… yet still offering the potential for a fully insulated home office, gym, or sun room at a surprisingly modest cost.
Sustainable. Adaptable. Reversible.
Design options now underway — and they’re looking exciting.

Hoar Cross project loading…
Two modest outbuildings, one big idea. Class Q won’t work here, but a sensitive link might. Rural planning is never simple, but we’re taking it to pre app with optimism

We’re best known for our domestic work, but every so often a commercial enquiry reminds us of past favourites — like the extension we designed for a distribution base in Lichfield.
Another highlight: Bonehill Mill in Fazeley, where our small industrial units are now taking shape on site.

A soothing interior, which is at design stage, and its glass conservatory to the rear of the building. In for planning shortly, but we're at that point where you just enjoy the spaces formed, and the potential. I would happily sit in these spaces on a summers eve....
