A gorgeous Oak floor I installed this week 😍

First I removed the carpet, skirting & architrave. I then self levelled the floor & once it was all dried out I installed this gorgeous Oak Engineered Wooden flooring and finished It off with new skirting, architrave & oak trims to match. The customer is over the moon with her new floor 👏

IKEA Pax hack?

Every now and then I get a customer looking for a more budget friendly storage option that still looks great rather than bespoke built units and this IKEA Pax unit combined with a IKEA Kallax unit with long grain matchboard and MDF fillers really does just that. The matchboard on the back wall with the picture frame moulding around the windows and skirting wrapped round really ties it all in and gives that bespoke feel.
I can't wait to see it all decorated.

Timber is a natural product, and sometimes even a tried-and-tested finish can throw you a curveball. 🪵
​I recently built and fitted these bespoke, push-to-open oak veneer bathroom cabinets. Initially, they looked spot on. But after the oil fully cured, the finish reacted unpredictably with the veneer and settled patchily.
​I tried sanding back and refinishing but it wasn't right, & that is just not the standard I work to at LJC Carpentry & Joinery. When my name is on a job, it has to be perfect.
​So, I pulled the doors and the scribed fillers, took them back to the bench, and completely remade, re-edged, and refinished them from scratch. It meant extra hours & materials but the result speaks for itself: a flawless, rich oak finish that is fully protected and ready for daily use.
​If there is one thing I promise every client, it’s this: no matter what, I will always make it right. 🤝

Been abit quiet the last few weeks but for good reason ive been flat out working on a number of projects, Just finished off replacing the front doors of Burton Boxing Club & have spent the last 2 weeks doing a load of first fix projects including a timber framed freestanding office. A ongoing house renovation including joists, Floor boards & Stud walls.
