It was great to see the Yee Group team at the Burton Upon Trent & District YMCA Crazy Golf Competition at Branston Golf & Country Club.

We're proud to support this event each year and were delighted to attend in person. The weather stayed kind, making for a fun afternoon of friendly competition, networking, and fundraising for a great cause.

Thank you to YMCA Burton for the incredible work you do in our community, and to Alexander Accountancy for organising another excellent event

The months seem to fly by when you're busy supporting customers across Staffordshire and the Midlands with essential building services!
A big congratulations to our most recent Employee of the Month winners, Edward Jesson and Chris Pursglove.

Our electrician Edward was recognised for his reliability and attention to detail, while fire & security installer Chris, was voted for by his colleagues following his handling of clients' emergency call-outs and his ability to solve problems under pressure.

Well done, Edward and Chris, and thank you for your hard work and dedication. 👏

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH - Kyle

Our Finance Team are very proud of Kyle's academic achievements, and so it’s great to have an opportunity to recognise his efforts in his daily work. He has been voted Employee of the Month by his peers at Yee Group, because he has supported colleagues throughout the company and played a key role in helping things run smoothly during a major upgrade of our systems and communications.

From supporting the transition to our new IT provider, to assisting with the Xelion phone switchover, and organising the rollout of new mobile phones for staff, Kyle has approached everything with a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed. His can-do attitude has meant a lot to his colleagues and his commitment has made a real difference.

Congratulations, Kyle, and thank you for your continued hard work and support.

The clocks are going forward this weekend. Here are some tips to plan for the airconditioning (heating and cooling) in your home

Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC)
Wall-mounted split units (e.g. Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG):
🔁 Reset needed if they use a manual infrared remote-control timer
❌Wi-Fi/app-controlled systems usually no reset needed (if properly connected and synced)

Programmable thermostats:
🔁 Reset if standalone/manual (older models)
❌ Smart thermostats (e.g. Nest Thermostat) adjust automatically

You will still lose an hour of sleep this weekend - but it wont be due to worry about your air conditioning system. 😊👍🤣

If your air con smells strange, don’t ignore it.

Odd smells are usually a sign that something isn’t right. A musty smell can mean damp, mould or a blocked drain. A burning smell could be dust, or it might be something overheating. Greasy or chemical smells are often caused by sprays and products building up in the system.

In a business bad smells affect staff comfort and the experience your customers have when they walk through the door. They can also mean your system isn’t running properly, which can lead to higher energy bills and potentially a unexpected breakdown.

Regular servicing helps keep your system clean, efficient and reliable. It improves air quality, reduces running costs and finds faults early, before they cause disruption.

Your air conditioning is designed to make your workplace comfortable and welcoming.

If it smells unusual, it’s worth getting it checked. A simple fix now could save you money later on.

Starting as an Apprentice, Leading as a Project Manager

Steve’s journey began with a simple goal: to work in sound and lighting. An electrical apprenticeship gave him the hands-on experience he loved, along with a qualification that set him up for a strong future. Studying at Cannock Chase Technical College on day release while working, he quickly built the skills, confidence and work ethic that still underpin his career today.

Now a Project Manager at Yee Group, leading Fire and Security projects, Steve has mentored dozens of apprentices himself. His philosophy is clear: train them well and encourage them to be the best at what they do.

Steve says: “Apprentices are the future of any business and a great foundation for any career.” His passion for electrical work remains as strong as ever, proving that a great apprenticeship can lead to a truly rewarding career.

Electrical Apprentices in Action at Yee Group ⚡

It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and we’re taking a moment to shout about the brilliant apprentices helping shape the future of Yee Group and the wider electrical industry.

We’re proud to support Oliver, Morgan, Edgars and Dylan as they complete their training with JTL Training while getting hands-on experience across our projects. They all bring loads of enthusiasm, and a real passion for the trade – and they’re already making a difference.

Morgan has spoken about how welcoming the Yee Group team has been, and how great it is to learn in a business known for developing apprentices. Oliver’s love for electrical systems started young, and he’s enjoying the chance to earn while he learns. Edgars is focused on qualifying, with ambitions to run his own business one day – something we’re proud to support.

And a special mention for Dylan, who’s been Employee of the Month three times recently 👏 A fantastic achievement that shows just how strong a start he’s made.

As our Group General Manager Jason Cooper (an apprentice himself once!) says, developing future talent is at the heart of what we do. Here’s to our apprentices – the future of Yee Group
