Progress continuing at this full refurbishment project👷🏻‍♂️

As work moves through the property, the transformation is now starting to take shape room by room - with new layouts formed, original features being retained, and the next stages of plastering, decorating and installation well underway.

One of the most rewarding parts of a refurbishment like this is balancing modern performance with the character of an older building. From structural improvements and insulation upgrades through to bespoke joinery details, every stage is about creating a home that feels both updated and in keeping with the property itself.

We’ll continue sharing more progress from this project as work develops over the coming weeks.

A lot of the important work in a build happens behind the plasterboard.

When creating vaulted ceilings and insulated roof spaces, it’s not just about keeping heat in - the building also needs to breathe properly. Correct airflow and insulation installation are key parts of making sure the structure performs properly long term and meets current building standards.

At this stage of the build, we’re installing PIR insulation boards within the roof structure while maintaining the airflow needed above the insulation layer.

It’s the kind of detail most people will never see once the project is finished, but it plays a huge part in the overall quality of the build.

Single storey side extension progressing well 👷🏻‍♂️

This build is now really starting to take shape, with internal layouts formed and the new spaces becoming much easier to visualise.

Blockwork and structural changes are now in place, creating a completely reworked layout that includes a new kitchen area, utility room, additional bedroom with en suite, and a large vaulted lounge space filled with natural light.

With the windows and doors fitted and the majority of the new roof structure now complete, the project is moving steadily towards the next stages of plastering and internal finishes.

One of the standout features of this build is the ceiling height throughout the new extension, helping create bright, open living spaces that completely transform how the property will feel once finished.

An East Sussex building firm has created a massive version of a World Cup wall chart so people can keep track of matches.
Reader David Kuhler took this picture of the display created by Burwash-based Archway Builders.
Flags with game and group details have been attached to a hoarding to recreate a huge version of the charts found in many homes which are updated as the tournament progresses.

Progress continuing at our single storey side extension and refurbishment project👷🏻‍♂️

Since our last update, the build has moved on significantly, with the majority of the new roof now in place alongside the installation of the windows and doors.

Internally, the new layout is really starting to take shape, with rooms now formed and the project moving closer towards the plastering stage.

It’s always rewarding seeing a build move from structural works into spaces that clients can properly start to visualise as part of their future home.

More updates to come as this project progresses.

It’s always exciting to get a new project underway and this loft conversion is one we’re really looking forward to sharing🛠️

Right now, it’s just the early stages: an empty loft space waiting to be opened up and reimagined. But over the next few weeks, we’ll be transforming it step by step into a bright, practical new living area.

These first updates may not look like much, but they’re the foundation of something special. We’ll keep you posted as the build takes shape 👷🏻‍♂️
