Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

We’re expanding our team and are looking for an experienced, motivated and highly skilled Arborist Team Leader & 1st Climber to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have 5–7+ years of professional arboricultural experience, be confident leading a small team and have proven experience in climbing, reductions, dismantling and rigging.
The Role
As our Arborist Team Leader & 1st Climber, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of arboricultural works while ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Tree pruning, reductions, felling and dismantling using appropriate techniques and equipment
* Carrying out tree health assessments and risk evaluations
* Competent use of chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders and rigging equipment
* Climbing and carrying out complex dismantles and rigging operations
* Leading and supervising a small team on site
* Groundwork and site clearance when required
* Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures
* Completing and working in accordance with risk assessments and COSHH requirements
* Liaising professionally with clients and team members on site
* Maintaining and caring for company vehicles, machinery and equipment
* Supporting the team to maintain a professional, tidy and safe working environment
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 5–7 years’ professional experience as a Tree Surgeon/Arborist
* Relevant NPTC or LANTRA qualifications, including CS30, CS31, CS38 and CS39 as a minimum
* Proven competence in climbing, reductions, dismantling and rigging
* Strong knowledge of tree species, tree health and common diseases
* Good understanding of safe working practices, risk assessments and COSHH
* Full clean UK driving licence, preferably with towing capability
* Excellent physical fitness and confidence working at height
* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to health & safety
* Professional attitude with good communication and leadership skills
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* First Aid certification
* MEWP certification
* Previous experience leading a small team or supervising arboricultural jobs
* Additional relevant arboricultural qualifications
