🍂 One of the most important jobs right now…
At this time of year, removing as much leaf fall from the lake as possible might look like a small, simple job — but it’s actually one of the most important things we can do. Every scoop matters.
Why we do it:
1️⃣ To reduce new silt building up.
Every leaf that settles adds to the long-term silt problem at the bottom of the lake.
2️⃣ To protect the lake’s oxygen levels.
When leaves sink, microbes start breaking them down. That process uses oxygen — oxygen the carp can’t then use.
A bit of leaf clearing now goes a long way in keeping the lake healthier 🍂💪🎣
