Myth: 'I Can See It's Fine So It Doesn't Need Surveying' - Why Visual Checks Aren't Enough

A material can look completely intact and still contain asbestos. Here's why that matters.

Myth: if it looks fine on the surface, it must be safe.
Truth: asbestos containing materials can appear undamaged while still posing a risk once disturbed, and many materials look identical to non-
hazardous alternatives without laboratory testing.

Relying on appearance is one of the easiest ways to get caught out.
