Afternoon everyone,

Another week concentrating on 34007, starting with the cab, the drivers side is now in a gloss, and the firemans side has had a knock back ready for a second gloss. The glass frames for the windows have recieved some attention from Daniel, they shouldn't be too far off completion. Started off prepping cab floor, these pieces are going rusty, so a coat of rust treatment applied and sanded the sections for a smooth finish.

Also on 34007, Chloe has been working on some panels for the piano front which are currently up into gloss. She has also been doing the same for some parts of the inside motion which are ready to go.

Some side projects have been worked on, Daniels shelves have now been glossed and ready to go. We recieved an old industrial lamp which is going to be used for Avonside 0-4-0 'Dora', which is into gloss. Chloe has also been working on a 'board' as signwriting practice, it is currently a work in progress.

That's all for this week, stay tuned for more updates.

Hi Folks,

Starting to sound like a broken record but more work continues on 34007. As you can probably see, the cab has recieved a coat of Malachite Green gloss, the drivers side still requires a coat but the firemans side is fully in a first gloss.

As for the inside, that's pretty much complete, we just need to go around and do any touch ups that may be required. More pieces have recieved some attention, including some panels off the piano front that Chloe has cracked on with.

Daniel has been doing some smaller pieces to be fitted back inside the cab and has also been working on a couple more shelves which I forgot to take a photo of.

Haven't really done any work on 45163 yet, but the reverser cover is finished now. As for the Jinty, 47445, the inside motion that's in the paint shop is nearly complete, they should be finished next week.

One last piece that was finished this week was the refresh of 'Sam's headboard, it was looking very worn when we recieved it, but managed to give it a new lease of life.

Evening guys and gals

This week's progress is once again was heavily focused on 34007's cab. With Daniel off for the week, Chloe and myself got the inside of the cab into a gloss and the outside into a green undercoat.

Both inside and out are now prepped, we are just awaiting the malachite green gloss to arrive, as for the inside, the main panels have had a knock back and awaiting a second gloss.

Some other parts have been worked on during the week, some panels that aren't fitted to the cab yet have received some attention, also some light boxes for inside the cab have been paint stripped, these may require another go over.

Been the odd few smaller jobs, most of the inside motion for 47445 is complete. This morning the reverser cover from 45163 came into the paint shop, which was given a sand, fill and coat of primer.

The original 'Gothenberg' nameplate of Riley's was finished and returned this morning. Another side project has been restoring a shovel, which is going to be a signwriting project for all of us.

Hopefully we should see 34007's cab near completion next week and we can turn our attention to the frames and the frames of 45163.

Afternoon everyone! Managed to post on time for a change...

So this week, we've focused on 34007's cab, Chloe has been applying filler to the sides and back where it had been dented or pitted, whilst I have been undercoating the inside ready for its first coat of gloss and priming the roof.

Daniel has been doing the odd couple fittings for the cab like the reverser handle, but he has mostly focused on finishing his shelves which are now complete and ready to go into the main workshop.

Another couple jobs going on have been for Jinty 47445, bringing up the inside motion into a gloss, hopefully another week till they're complete. We have also had a boiler saddle for 35009 'Shaw Savill' in the paintshop which has recieved some treatment.

Finishing off with a side project, being one of the bosses original nameplates off MSC 32 'Gothenburg', just giving it a 1st gloss, will be giving it a second in any spare time we have.

That'll do us for this week, next week should see us getting 34007's cab in a near a complete stage and hopefully start some work on 45163's frames.

Hi everyone, sorry for the radio silence as of recently with myself being on holiday and being rather quiet in the works with the Fives now gone, so itll be a short and sweet one today.

Chloe has been doing some work to the cab of 34007 'Wadebridge', getting most of it into primer and started undercoating the inside black. Couple of other small jobs included some new shelving for the main workshop being brought up into gloss by Daniel.

Meanwhile I've been up in Fort William with Cameron repainting the office block, toilet block and workshop ready for when the Jacobite season starts (I have no date of a return). They were getting a bit worn on the outside so a couple coats of protection to see them through another couple years. Hopefully next week I can show you more progress!

Afternoon guys and gals,

Last week saw the completion of 44871, most of last week consisted of sprucing up the inside of the cab and any touch ups. The roof of the cab saw a fresh repaint, some areas had become rusty so a coat of 'rust treatment' was applied and it had an undercoat and gloss of cream.

Fire hole doors had a lick of heat resistant paint as they were bare metal, all new bolt heads given a coat of black gloss as well as the reverser. A few handles including whistle, dampers, trimmers and cylinder taps given a coat of white on the ends.

New stickers have been applied, the tops numbers have been applied inside the cab and new 'glow in the dark' overhead warning stickers added to the piano front.

With the two main Fives back out and running on the mainline, its time to turn to the next Five and 34007.

4871 has left the building!

The five has now left the Rileys workshop and going for testing ahead of the Great Britain charter. We still have a couple jobs left inside the cab to do and that'll be it until next year!

Evening everyone,

So today sees 44871's refresh nearing completion, ready for the Great Britain and Jacobite season! (don't ask for details as I can't confirm anything...)

Yesterday and today we managed to get a 50/50 coat on the boiler and firebox, it would have been nice to have more time on it and do a full repaint, but that'll be next year's job now! All that's required on there now is to varnish the boiler bands.

The tender is pretty much complete, a coat of varnish was applied to the sides and back, the hand rails will require a gloss.

Buffer beams aren't far off either, just a case of finishing all the air brake and vacuum pipes for a refresh.

So we really aren't far now!
