The company perform a number of manufacturing processes that include compression moulding, blow moulding, injection moulding, rotational moulding, the manufacture of reflective sheeting, and processes which recycle a variety of waste plastics into new products. As with most progressive companies, we have a solid commitment to the environment. We recycle 10,000 tonnes of material in the manufacturing of our products. Urban traffic management needs barriers that are quick to deploy, highly visible, and built to handle changing site layouts.

The 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹 is a 2-metre water-filled barrier designed for roadworks, infrastructure projects, and pedestrian management in busy urban environments. Its hook and eye connection system allows barriers to remain connected at over 280° of angular movement, making it easier to create flexible layouts around junctions and live worksites.

Filling points on either side support quick setup, while the removable base plug allows straightforward emptying once the project is complete.

Manufactured from HDPE, the CityWall can also be colour coded or embossed with company branding to support site visibility and identity.

When major projects need a barrier system that combines strength, flexibility and tested performance, the 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝟱𝟬 is built for the job.

Crash tested to 50 mph, the Defender50 is the only system in its class to be tested with top fence panels fitted. Designed for demanding traffic management environments, the system uses two metal plates and a steel tube connection to securely link each barrier together while still allowing 138° angular movement.

Manufactured from UV stabilised polymer, the barrier offers a fill capacity of up to 400 litres and includes forklift entry points, easy top-fill access, and a sump plug for straightforward emptying once works are complete.

The Defender50 is also compatible with the DoubleTop range and can be embossed with corporate branding for added site visibility.

From road safety and asset management through to decarbonisation and digital infrastructure, it was a valuable opportunity to see the latest developments across the industry and discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Today is 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆.

It is a chance to recognise the organisations, initiatives and individuals working to reduce environmental impact and build a more sustainable future.

At Melba Swintex, that responsibility starts with how we manufacture.

More than 90% of the products we manufacture are made from recycled material, and all of our products are recyclable at the end of their life.

Alongside our manufacturing processes, we have also supported woodland creation projects as part of our wider commitment to environmental responsibility across both our UK and international projects.

That support has contributed to:

- 15,625 trees planted
- 2,393 tonnes of CO₂ captured
- 14 hectares of new woodland created

As a UK manufacturer supplying traffic management products around the world, we recognise the importance of balancing growth, quality, and long-term environmental responsibility.
