Two very unique chairs were delivered yesterday to one of our most long-standing clients who was obviously over the moon once again.

On this occasion our client supplied her own fabric which I'm sure you will agree compliments the chairs in every way .

In the workshop today Robert is Reupholstering a wingback chair with check fabric which involves far more intricacy compared to using plain fabric, due to the need for pattern alignment. Check patterns require careful matching at seams and edges to ensure a cohesive and symmetrical appearance, which is far more time-consuming and requires much precision. In contrast, plain fabric does not have patterns to align, making it easier and quicker to work with, as the focus is primarily on ensuring a smooth and even texture across the chair, Believe it or not it probably adds over 30% more time on the job.

It's interesting that over the many years of upholstered items that we work on at Persivil way nothing is more satisfying for us as working with antique furniture, this is one of two Victorian chairs that are currently receiving some much needed TLC with us.

On this occasion the customer supplied their own fabric from Bridgend fabrics at just £12pm.
