Called out by an existing customer on Friday due to water coming through the kitchen ceiling. It’s made quite a mess of the ceiling.

Back today to repair. New shower waste fitted and also new waste pipework through the wall and reconnected externally (bit of a challenge on top of fragile perspex roof!)

It’s her only shower so she’s over the moon to have it back in full working order.

To say that I got satisfaction from cutting out this b****** would be an understatement! 🤣

Any heating engineer (especially doing installs) knows that these need cutting out and throwing in the scrap bag.

However, after fitting a new boiler and finding that it still wasn’t circulating quite as it should, I had to hunt for this. It wasn’t in the usual place (eg airing cupboard) but in the loft under a load of loft insulation 😫

Another long hectic day today.
First a boiler breakdown in Central Cambridge (think it’s safe to say the ignition electrodes in the first photo had seen better days!)

Then an emergency replacement combination boiler change in Histon. This was the fourth boiler I have replaced in the space of the last 10 days.

As always this close to Christmas it’s only boiler / system breakdowns and emergencies that are prioritised for existing customers (another day of this on Monday 🔧 💧 🔥

Looking forward to a much needed break from Tuesday through until January
