As members of the AICC, our Shrewsbury-based team attended a fungicide trial tour yesterday, where it was insightful to observe how differences in septoria control between treatments are beginning to emerge at this stage of the season.

It will be particularly interesting to review the yield data once the trials are concluded and the results are compiled. Many thanks to everyone involved in organising and hosting the event.

Exploring alternatives to traditional break crops.

With oilseed r**e facing ongoing challenges, more growers are reassessing their rotations and looking to specialist crops for new opportunities. From nutritional oil crops like borage and camelina to other options such as quinoa, lupins and poppies, there’s growing potential to diversify, access premium markets and build long-term resilience.

Rotational diversity isn’t just about margins, it’s about improving soil health, managing pests and weeds, and reducing reliance on volatile commodity markets.

At Ceres Rural, we’re helping growers identify options that fit both their system and their business goals.

Lincolnshire Show Highlights ⭐️

What a fantastic couple of days at the Lincolnshire Show – a brilliant opportunity to connect, share ideas, and host two insightful talks on the Ceres Group stand.

We were pleased to welcome Robbie Moore MP , Shadow Farming Secretary, in conversation with Ceres Rural’s George Hoyes. The discussion covered key issues affecting rural life and the agricultural sector, including the current challenges facing farmers and the wider policy landscape impacting British agriculture.

We also hosted a brilliant session with Olly Harrison, farmer, entrepreneur, and creator of , alongside Charlie Ireland. They shared honest, unfiltered insights into modern farming, communication in agriculture, and Olly’s journey building his audience.

Did anyone spot the wonderful live art portrait of Charlie outside the at the Worksop College and Ranby House stand?

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the talks, visited the stand, and contributed to such great discussions across both days.

Yesterday, our Norwich team had the pleasure of helping to host an estate walk at the stunning Kelling Estate, bringing together around 100 local farmers and landowners. It was a great chance to catch up with familiar faces, share insights, and discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the local rural landscape.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a successful and enjoyable evening.
