I’ve got osteoarthritis in my feet, as a carpenter this makes work terribly unpleasant some days. I’ve tried SO MANY different boots and shoes this year looking for the best options for my feet.
At I had the pleasure of meeting Jesse Baltrop from and explained my situation - he introduced me to the Vanguard - and I’m grateful he did!
They arrived at my workshop yesterday and went straight to work.
Day 1- ZERO fatigue, ZERO discomfort

I had the pleasure of meeting Kate Patrick, aka The Messy Allotmenteer who invited me to join her team for the 2026
The commission - a gorgeous garden bench with full artistic freedom (as long as the dimensions match).

Straight away I teamed up with Ben Duncan from .studio and Lewis Bond from .

Timber arrived at the workshop yesterday from my friends at - and I cannot wait to get stuck in!

A bit of BOG ASH anyone?
These book match slabs have been carbon dated to be between 3500-5000 years old, and will soon be a glorious dining table in a large open plan space. Air dried > kiln dried > CNC flattened to within a fraction of a millimetre of their final thickness.
