Today’s work involved attending two separate oil boiler breakdowns, both requiring in-depth fault finding before repairs could be carried out.

One boiler had suffered a burner motor failure, preventing the burner from operating correctly. After confirming the fault, a new motor was fitted and the burner recommissioned.

The second appliance was experiencing fuel delivery issues, which were traced to a failed oil pump. Following replacement, the burner was reset, pressures checked and the boiler tested to ensure it was operating efficiently and safely.

Oil-fired heating systems rely on a number of specialist components working together correctly. Accurate diagnosis is key to identifying the true cause of a breakdown and restoring reliable operation as quickly as possible.

Another heating system upgraded!

The customer decided now was the right time to have mains gas brought to the property and upgrade their ageing oil-fired gravity-fed heating system.

The existing setup consisted of an oil boiler, cold water storage tanks in the loft, and a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard. We removed the old system and installed a new gas combi boiler neatly in the loft, creating a modern, efficient heating and hot water solution.

As part of the conversion, we upgraded the pipework, removed the redundant tanks and cylinder, fitted new halo wireless heating controls, and carried out a full system cleanse with inhibitor added for ongoing protection.

To make the most of the new mains pressure system, we also upgraded the existing showers with new Mira Vision digital processors, giving the customer improved performance, precise temperature control, and a modern showering experience throughout the property.

The customer now benefits from:

✅ Instant hot water on demand
✅ Mains pressure hot water throughout the property
✅ Upgraded Mira Vision digital showers
✅ Increased energy efficiency
✅ More space in the kitchen
✅ Reliable heating and hot water all year round
✅ 12-year manufacturer’s warranty for added peace of mind

A fantastic transformation from an older gravity-fed oil heating system to a modern gas combi boiler installation. The property now enjoys powerful mains pressure hot water, modern digital shower controls, improved efficiency, and the reassurance of a 12-year warranty.
