🏗️ INVESTING IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF CONSTRUCTION TALENT

Last month, Jess Sheldon - Employee Services & Apprentice Lead, visited the Constructed Pathways training hub in Waterbeach to see first-hand how new opportunities are being created to develop practical skills and pathways into the construction industry.

It was great to learn more about the wider programme of work being delivered across the region, including:

🔨 Construction Skills – Wintringham, St Neots
Developed in partnership with West Suffolk College and Urban&Civic, the new Construction Training Centre is being developed in an area identified as a Further Education Cold Spot, helping bring much-needed local construction training to St Neots and the surrounding area.

The centre will offer practical training across carpentry, brickwork, groundworks, digital and green skills, work-readiness, CSCS-related activity, apprenticeships and Bootcamps, with additional funding supporting Plumbing and Electrical training.

Located within the growing Wintringham development, the centre will create a fantastic link between training, local employers and the construction projects shaping the future of the area.

An open day is planned for 29 September, with further details to follow.

🏫 Hinchingbrooke School
A new construction training hub is being developed to deliver multi-skilled construction training, giving learners practical experience across a range of disciplines.

🏗️ Waterbeach
The existing facility will begin working with the scaffolding industry from September, delivering specialist training in partnership with Safety and Access.

⚡ Alconbury
Funding has also been secured for a new electrical training facility, creating further opportunities for people looking to enter, retrain or progress within the construction and building services sectors.

At Regent Construction, apprenticeships, training and developing future talent are an important part of who we are. It was fantastic to see the investment being made in skills, people and accessible routes into construction.

We’re also keen to help connect our subcontractor network with Constructed Pathways, whether that’s to support training, upskilling existing teams, apprenticeships or developing future talent.

Welcome to the Regent Team, Franco! 👋🔨

We’re delighted to welcome Franco Celentano to the Regent Construction team as our newest Carpentry Apprentice!

Franco is starting his apprenticeship with us and will be developing his skills both on site and through his training, gaining valuable hands-on experience as he works towards building a career in the construction industry.

We’re passionate about investing in the next generation of construction talent, and we’re looking forward to supporting Franco throughout his apprenticeship and seeing his skills grow along the way.

⚽ Regent Construction FC 2026 ⚽

Earlier this week, our team headed over to Downing College for their annual 5-a-side football tournament, competing for the highly-prized 🏆 Downing Trophy!

It was a great afternoon of friendly competition, teamwork and plenty of fun, with teams from across the project community coming together to enjoy the tournament. ☀️⚽

A big thank you to the Downing College Buildings Team for organising another brilliant event and for creating such a welcoming atmosphere.

THE REGENT LOUNGE | CAMBRIDGE UNITED

We’re delighted to see the refurbishment of the Regent Lounge at Cledara Abbey Stadium officially complete! ⚽️🏗️

As long-standing sponsors of Cambridge United, it was particularly special for us at Regent Construction to have the opportunity to refurbish a space that proudly carries our name.

The project has brought together our relationship with the club and what we do best, delivering a high-quality refurbishment that enhances the experience for supporters, guests and corporate visitors.

“It was a real pleasure to oversee the refurbishment of the Regent Lounge at Cambridge United’s Cledara Abbey Stadium.

Project Award | 19–35 Regent Street

We’re delighted to announce that Regent Construction has been appointed by Downing College, Cambridge to deliver the redevelopment of 19–35 Regent Street.

This exciting project will see us build on our longstanding relationship with Downing College, delivering high-quality works within one of Cambridge’s most prominent and historic locations.

We’re looking forward to working closely with the College team and our supply chain partners to bring the project forward and deliver a successful outcome.

From before to after. 🌿

A look at the transformation of River Court at St John’s College.

Our works focused on enhancing the riverside environment while respecting the historic setting, with improvements to the riverbanks, pathways, bridge, landscaping and ecological habitats.

A great example of how thoughtful construction can improve both the environment and the way people use and enjoy the space.

☀️ STILL HOT, STAY SAFE ON SITE

It’s still hot out there, and with warm weather continuing this week, it’s important that our teams continue to take extra care when working on site.

Construction work is physically demanding, and working in high temperatures can increase the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion and fatigue.

A few reminders for everyone on site:
💧 Keep hydrated – drink water regularly throughout the day.
🧢 Take regular breaks – make use of shaded or cooler areas where possible.
⏰ Work smart – where possible, plan heavier tasks for the cooler parts of the day.

👀 Look out for each other, if you or a colleague are feeling unwell, speak up.

The weather might be great, but staying safe comes first.

Stay cool, stay hydrated and look after each other. 👷‍♂️☀️
