Schnauber Timber Windows & Doors, are proud to support this incredible fundraising challenge.

A determined grandfather is cycling 170 miles from Bristol to The Red Lion in Stretham over three days in memory of his grandson, Hunter. Despite recovering from a heart attack last year and training while managing borderline Type 2 diabetes, he’s taking on this challenge to raise money for Hunter’s Helping Hand, helping families who have experienced the loss of a child.

☀️ Warm weather is here – which means your windows and doors play a big role in how hot (or cool) your home feels.

Most homes heat up because of three things:
• Strong sun on the glass
• Warm air sneaking in through gaps
• Hot air getting “trapped” inside

Try this simple routine:
• Late morning to late afternoon: keep windows and doors on the sunny side closed and shaded with blinds or curtains to block direct sun. 🌞
• Early morning and evening: open windows on opposite sides of your home to create a natural breeze and flush warm air out. 🌬️
• Check for gaps around older timber sashes and doors – even small draughts can let hot air in during the day and reduce the benefit of night cooling.

Pay attention to how each room feels the next morning and over a few days – does it stay cooler for longer when you shade in the day and ventilate in the evening?

If you live in a period or character property, well‑maintained timber windows and doors with good seals, glazing and shading can make this routine even more effective, keeping you more comfortable in both summer and winter. 🏡
