Knocking off a handful of small jobs today. This one in particular - a recently installed patio was butted up to the brickwork above the DPC, causing efflorescence. If left for too long damp could have penetrated the wall. I cleaned off the efflorescence and installed a soakaway to help resolve the issue.

When having a new patio, always make sure they landscape it below the DPC. Under certain circumstances when this cannot be done, have them install a channel drain. It will save you a lot of hassle, especially in solid wall / pre-war properties 👍
