We received this lovely review from a customer after installing bespoke timber French windows at their property:

🗣️ “The installation service was professional and the quality of the job excellent. I've been meaning to write a review for a while – absolutely recommend this company.”

Feedback after a customer has had time to live with their new windows is always particularly rewarding.

Beautiful on installation day and made to be enjoyed for many years afterwards.

You might recognise the windows but perhaps not what we’ve built around them.

Our sister brand, Soul Space creates handcrafted timber cabins and garden rooms right here alongside us at the workshop.

Each cabin is built from the ground up by the team, complete with traditional bespoke timber windows and doors made by Andrew Jaynes.

It means the same craftsmanship and attention to detail you'd expect to find in our windows and doors becomes part of the entire building.

If you're looking to create more usable space at home, we'd love you to take a look at what the Soul Space team has been building.

Should you repair your existing windows or replace them? It's a question we're asked regularly.

In some cases, repairing an existing timber window is the right approach. In others, a bespoke replacement provides better thermal performance, improved security and a much longer-term solution.

Every property is different which is why we take the time to assess what's best for both the home and the homeowner.

If you're unsure where to start, we're always happy to help guide you through the process.

The short answer is yes.

But before any work begins, you'll usually need Listed Building Consent from your local authority.

Every listed property is different which is why it's important to seek advice before making any changes.

If you're unsure where to start, we're always happy to help guide you through the process.

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) to Andrew Jaynes Ltd for a workshop visit at our workshop in Chislet.

This was the first workshop we've delivered in this format, welcoming a knowledgeable mix of homeowners, conservation professionals, and people with a genuine passion for historic buildings.

Throughout the day we explored how traditional timber windows and doors are manufactured, right from sawn Accoya timber through to the finished product, before discussing topics including listed buildings, conservation, planning, vacuum glazing, and how modern performance can be achieved while respecting historic fabric and remaining sympathetic to the property.

We also looked at how we can carry out the complete process for a project, from the initial survey, technical drawings, and listed building applications, right through to manufacture, factory finishing, and installation.

There were some brilliant discussions and plenty of questions throughout the day, which made the workshop even more enjoyable.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. The feedback has been incredibly positive, and it was fantastic to see so much interest in traditional joinery and sympathetic restoration.

This was the first workshop we've run in this format, and we're pleased to say it certainly won't be the last.

If you're part of a heritage organisation, architectural practice, surveying team, local authority, or simply have a group with an interest in traditional timber windows and doors, we'd be delighted to welcome you for a future workshop.

☕ And we're pleased to report that the new coffee machine we invested in passed the test with flying colours too!
