Autumn is here and we mustn't forget to celebrate it.
My favorite is apple and spice compot, or sage boiled in milk with homemade honey!

Most of these plants will become mulch ar the end of their biological seaaon. Annuals, leaves, offcuts will be shredded and decomposed- turned into a rich soil to power future generations.

I am a big pumpkin fan and I eat them a lot!
But these little cuties are for decoration purposes, to celebrate autumn and changing seasons. I know we are still in the heathwave, but first signs of a late summer/early autumn are here. Look closely and you'll see...

Pumpkins

Apples falling to the ground

Leaves flying around and landing on the lawn

Willowherb blooming to the top

Lots of annuals are producing seeds

Shorter days

Etc etc etc

I adore autumn! I adore Nature getting introverted and quiet, fills me with peace, balance and contemplation.

Another beautiful creation in complete bloom and competition for Life:)!

This garden is one of my favorite. When I met the client a few years ago, the garden was almost empty. The landacaping was done nicely, but instead of a good topsoil, they filled borders with a heavy clay, a suboil which was so hard that it was impossible to even dig it.
The client had 2 options- to remove old soil and pay for its removal, or invest time and work on it. We decided for the secon option, and after a few years of dedication, we finally see results. Amazing colorful results.
How did we do it? Every winter, we bring a load of a well rotened manure, and meep mulching the garden with bio/green waste. Mulch keeps the soil himid, reduces eeeds anc keeps constantly decomposing- feeding the soil.

Yesterday, I have opened the season by sowing the first batch of sunflowers for the food garden. They are tall giants, and an excellent food source for pollinators and birds.
This season excites me not just because of food production, but putting colours and positivity into our world too. Fighting dark stuff going around with my colourful mind, the sword that will light a small candle light in my part of the world!

Young me with friends clearing 2 gardens in the village where I lived. No tools, just passion to create.

Things have changed since. I have became professional gardener with all tools in my van. I don't burn anymore, I shred and mulch green waste- this improves soil, prevents weeds and creates habitat for tiny wildlife.

It makes me happy looking back at those photos which reflect dedication, friendships, support, visions and creativity. This was almost 20 years ago!
