Came across this dangerous situation on a recent job 👇

An overloaded extension lead had been left plugged in overnight, powering a tumble dryer — and this is the result. The socket AND plug are both scorched and burnt. This could have easily caused a fire 🔥

⚠️ A reminder to everyone: ❌ Do NOT leave extension leads plugged in overnight — especially when powering appliances like tumble dryers, heaters, or anything that generates heat. ⚡ These appliances draw a lot of current (amps), which can cause overheating if the plug or socket isn’t up to the job. ✅ The best solution is to have enough permanent sockets installed to safely handle the demand in your home.
