It’s normally the other way round — the kitchen gets made to fit the space.
But on this one, we were confident we could build it accurately enough to flip that.
So we made the space to suit the kitchen.
There’s a steel post just to the left of the tall units that had to go in for structural reasons, so we used that point to define the end of the run and built the wall to suit the kitchen layout. The units came from Italy, so we had to get it bang on. No chunky filler panels, no wasted space — just a clean fit that looks like it was always meant to be there.
On the other side, we stopped the run of units in line with the ceiling drop where the flat roof meets the original house. Little detail, but it helps balance the space and make the layout feel right.
All planned, all intentional.
