Here at Evans Group, we are proud to have delivered the full electrical design and installation package for the new Brooklands Community Centre in Stoke Gifford, Bristol, on behalf of John Perkins Construction as part of the wider Brooklands Park development for Crest Nicholson.

This £2.4M community facility was designed to provide a modern, flexible, and energy efficient space for local residents, including a community hall, cafe, meeting rooms, and offices.

Our scope included:

💡 Electrical design & installation;
💡 Lighting, power & containment systems;
💡 Fire alarm, access control & intruder alarm systems;
💡 Data cabling & remote monitoring;
💡 EV charging infrastructure;
💡 16.8kWp solar PV installation;
💡 Testing, commissioning & full project documentation;
💡 Full 12 months maintenance programme.

With sustainability at the heart of the project, the building is targeting a BREEAM “Very Good” rating, supported by energy efficient lighting, solar PV, EV charging, and smart monitoring systems.

Great to support the delivery of a future-ready community space that will benefit the local area for years to come. 😍

Proud to support a recent careers event at a SEN school in South Wales, helping students explore the wide range of opportunities available within the construction industry!

Events like these are incredibly important. Every young person deserves access to career inspiration, practical advice, and the confidence to see what’s possible for their future. For students with additional learning needs, having the chance to meet employers, ask questions, and hear real experiences can make a lasting impact.

As part of the day, we have recently invested in electrical circuit kits so the students could get a hands on experience and have a go at building simple circuits themselves. 😍

A huge thank you to the staff, students, and organisers for making the event so welcoming and inspiring. We’re proud to play a small part in encouraging the next generation to believe in their potential.

As we round off Mental Health Awareness Week 2026, we were proud to deliver mental health awareness training across our team. 😍

In the electrical industry, we often focus on safety, performance, and delivering high-quality work, but looking after mental wellbeing is just as important!

Creating an environment where people feel supported, listened to, and able to speak openly can make a real difference both on and off site.

A big thank you to everyone who took part in the sessions and contributed to the conversations. Investing in our people will always remain a priority.

Great progress at the Glyncoch solar installation by our Evans Energy team for our clients Willmott Dixon!

The panels are really starting to take shape, with a total of 358 panels being installed across the site, 292 on the flat roof and 66 on the canopy. Once complete, the SolarEdge 125kWp system is expected to generate more than 126,000kWh of electricity every year. 🤩

This project is particularly exciting because it’s part of a pioneering Passivhaus, net carbon zero school development. A huge amount of thought and design has gone into making the building as energy efficient and sustainable as possible. Even more impressive, it’s one of three schools commissioned by the Welsh Government as part of an experimental programme exploring the future of low-carbon education buildings. 🥰

We recently had the opportunity to visit a school in South Wales, where two members of our team delivered an engaging talk on electrical engineering.

They shared insights into the industry, career pathways, and the real-world impact of engineering, helping to bring the subject to life for students considering their future options.

We were also joined by Tom, one of our electrical engineering apprentices, who gave a valuable perspective on what it’s like to start out in the field.

He spoke about his day-to-day experience, the application process, and offered practical advice to those interested in pursuing an apprenticeship.

A big thank you to the school for having us, it’s always a privilege to support and inspire the next generation of engineers. 🥰

Stepping out of the office to support an incredible charity, Llamau. ❤️

Llamau does vital work across Wales, supporting young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness helping them recognise their worth and the positive impact they can have on society.

Last week, we had the privilege of attending their awards event, where we also contributed and presented to their inspiring young learners.

Hearing their stories was genuinely moving. The resilience, determination, and ambition in that room was something special.

Moments like this are a powerful reminder of why partnerships like these matter and why we’re proud to play even a small part in supporting such life changing work.

We’d like to take a moment to recognise something we’re really proud of as a company and that's our team, both in the office and on site! 😍

Last week one of our on site team again went above and beyond by welcoming another work experience student onto site. Taking the time to show them the ropes, explain the role, and give them a real insight into life in the electrical industry makes a lasting difference. 👏

It’s not just about getting the job done, it’s about investing in the next generation, sharing knowledge, and helping others build confidence in a hands-on environment.

We know how valuable this experience can be, and it wouldn’t be possible without the patience, support, and professionalism of our engineers out on site. 😍

Another successful fit-out completed at Cardiff Gate!

Our Evans Facilities Services team recently delivered a full electrical installation tailored to meet our client’s evolving workspace needs. The project included:

💡 Installation of new feature lighting to enhance the working environment;
💡 3-compartment trunking for additional power sockets and data points;
💡 Floor box relocation to optimise layout and usability;
💡 Electrical provisions for new tea points and seating booths.

Every element was carefully designed and installed to support modern power and data requirements, ensuring both functionality and a clean, professional finish. 👏
