The butter churn is restored and repaired. Gifted to my lovely Mother for her 75th birthday today, so I can finally share the pictures. Thanks to everyone who was asking how it was going. Here's the final result. I tried to keep it's vintage when cleaning metalwork and added 1947 and mums initials. The actual churn predates this by a fair couple of decades. Originally built in Oswestry, Wales according to the makers mark and the tap hole seal bares the date 1920.

On a reclamation mission tonight. I've managed to salvage some beautiful hand carved reliefs from an old chest (built with rose head nails which is exciting) But sadly couldn't be restored as was due to extensive woodworm in the supporting frame. I'll have to dream up something special to honour the history of these pieces 🤔❤️
