This week we've treated many wasps nests so far this week, and we're going to be treating hay mite with an approved product at 6am Friday morning and then a carpet moth infestation at 8am between our scheduled routine appointments, and we also discovered a carpet moth in our home on Wednesday morning, but it didn't get far ☠️ and then we're treating a flea infestation early Saturday morning before heading off to llanddarog show.

Three wasp nests were treated and bagged, not all of the nests that we treat are removed, some are tucked into areas that are not accessible.
One of the products we use can neutralise a wasp nest within 10 minutes, and we sometimes do not suit up in our protective clothing, this is from assessing how aggressive the wasps are, and during the earlier months of the summer, wasps are not too aggressive.
Today we're carrying out a follow up visit on a very large brown rat infestation, and we will be assessing a possible wasp nest located in Carmel nr crosshands, and we think it's more likely to be a swarm of honey bees.

12 Years in business 🙏🏼

Thursday was a little quieter than most days, all our prescheduled routine visits had been done, and then a call from a new customer that was experiencing a very large brown rat infestation at their premises, this call was the result of a previous customer that had been experiencing a large brown rat infestation at their farm in early may of this year, and we came highly recommended and were then able to visit the premises and begin our survey and treatment by 4pm and we had finished by 5.30 pm.

Careful burrow baiting around active livestock in an area that we know to have raptors and other non target wildlife present.

Once the treatment is finished, the customer will want an Improvised Pest Prevention Contract, and we advise a minimum of 6 visits a year.

Wasps are being reported more often as their nests will begin to grow in size daily.

Wasp larvae will also be emerging daily, so wasp numbers will also increase daily.

Wasps are carnivorous and will feed on small insects, green flies, black flies, aphids, and ants.

Wasps can be good for our gardens by helping to reduce the small problematic insects that can be a nightmare for the keen gardener.

Wasps can also be very problematic when a nest is too near our home or garden shed and will become more aggressive towards the summer's end.

Wasps can nest almost anywhere around our property, in the ground or in areas where we are likely to encounter them during our day to day activities.

Our treatment is very effective and has a good knock down ability with a long residual lasting until the very last wasp has been eradicated.

Wasps are now active until late autumn and even as late as November, when the wasp nest begins to die off, then wasps will become more aggressive.
Wasps are ideal for our gardens feeding on small insects, green flies, black flies, aphids and other small insects.

Wasps can also be problematic in parts of our garden, and will react to a mover, strimmer or even getting a little too close to their nest.

There are various species of wasps, most will create nests in and around buildings, when others will create their nest within the ground out of sight to the unsuspecting human traffic that may strim, mow or even stand to close.

We are often asked after treatment or removal of wasps nests by some customers, do they return to the same nest the following year? The answer is simply NO!
But wasps can return to the same building or garden the following year.

Wasps are carnivorous and feed on a variety of small flying and crawling insects near our properties and will scrape a layer of wood off an old fence or garden shed, mixing it with their saliva to form their nest.

Wasps nests often begin in early spring shortly after the queen amerges from her winter hibernation, and will start off the size of a ping-pong ball and will gradually grow throughout the summer months.

Routine visits can sometimes show signs of brown rat activity, but thankfully regular visits will certainly prevent the beginning of a brown rat infestation, this is why we also check other areas of the farm while carrying out routine visits.
