Installed some plastic conduit to supply an extraction fan, controlled with a 3 pole rotary isolator; bit of a ball ache getting through the ceiling.

Conduit connected to a run of steel trunking fed from a 16 way 3ph panel.

Beam clips used to fix conduit to RSJ.

A client called and explained that their 63 Amp single phase sub circuit kept tripping weekly. Upon doing a site visit it was found that the sub circuit was feeding a 4 way 3ph panel, and this was supplying 5 more single phase boards associated with holiday lets, and some various other bits and pieces.
⚡️
⚡️
The previous electrician had linked out the phases with some cable to convert the 3ph panel to a single phase one.
⚡️
⚡️
I suggested to install a 63 Amp 3ph supply using a 16.0mm 5C armour to supply the 3ph panel so that the load could be shared across the three phases, which would resolve the overload issue being experienced.
⚡️
⚡️
I managed to get the job done within the day. It took an hour of walking around; it took 2 hours to get the materials; it took an hour to pull the cable into position and the rest of the time was taken to gland and get the cable fixed into each panel; that part was a c@.
⚡️
⚡️
As can been seen from the pictures of the main panel, it was rammed and not very accessible so that the single phase sub could be removed. I disconnected the Line and Neutrals of the sub circuit and made safe the ends. The armour was then cut in a cupboard under the panel. That panel was installed around 5 years ago and what a heap of sh@t it is.
⚡️
⚡️
A lot of physical effort went into to getting my small sized cable in that day. How electricians get these 120mm multicore cables in place is an amazing feat.

It was nice working with the lads on this one.

If anybody needs a one stop building solution, these guys can deliver and will travel nationwide.

An extensive and high end new-build project is in mid flow and making progress.

Lots going in on this one.

I’m not impressed with GAP Lighting Ltd and their plaster in down-lights. What a load of crap with their screw terminals??!

They get plastered in (not accessible for inspection and testing) and should a loose connection occur (which is common over time), the ceiling would be ruined trying to get them out so that the connections could be resolved.

I won’t be recommending them again, their sales guy is useless.

Everything else… okay so far.

I’m looking forward to seeing the end result.

Installed a circuit for a water heater point today at Frenchbeer Farm. It was situated on top of their large refrigeration storage unit.

Interesting test result measured at the end 😈

A three phase socket installed for a local farm. It managed to be squeezed in amongst all the other bits of equipment.

Hopefully the photos turn out looking alright, I used the new edit in HDR function of Lightroom (if that makes sense to anybody out there) 😄

My drive this morning to Plymouth was lovely. Driving past these furry beauties was nice to see; there were a group of them huddled in the middle of the road.

I think Meldon Hill might be in the background somewhere… I could be wrong.

It’s nice to be able to share the beauty that surrounds us, as well as showcasing the work that we do so that people on the hunt for an electrician can see what we do, which might meet their expectations with projects that they might be keen on wanting to start.

I’ve been into photography for around 12 years, prior to that I always thought somebody with a camera was weird, I don’t know why.. Perhaps I had a narrow bandwidth of a mind; a closed view of the world we live in.

This photo was taken and edited with the phone, as are all my uploads.

Enjoy the view, as I did this morning 🙏🏻
