Appletree has always been a small, privately owned company, enabling me to work in flexible ways to suit my customers rather than being restricted to bigger company procedures. With an art and design background and over twenty years experience improving and maintaining homes, my approach is a little different to that of a traditional carpenter or builder. Working with your designs or ones that I create for you, I always look at how a project will compliment your existing style, come up with creative ways of achieving what you want and explain everything in plain English. I'll also give honest feedback on project feasibility, suggest options to suit your needs and budget, and produce detailed designs and fully itemised quotations. I also provide a total service in every sense of the word, with proper finishing part and parcel of a project. This includes filling holes or repairing plaster, for example where old fittings are removed, sanding, staining, painting and leaving everything clean, tidy and ready for you to start using. Having lived and worked in the area for most of my life, I'm proud of company values that mirror the best of our community - true craftsmanship, reliability, trustworthiness, accountability and genuine respect for people's homes.

I've spent the last couple of weeks working on a bookcase down in the lovely village of Alderley. Again mainly utilising alder from the customers own felled trees. It's certainly the largest bookcase I've made to date. Still need to add some carved decoration to the top, but all in good time.
