I've been an electrician since I left school at the age of 16, going to scat to train. I did my apprenticeship with Mike Copp electrical and finished scat at the age of 19. I left Mike Copp electrical at the age of 20 and worked for Wilkinson Electrical services as a domestic based electrician. I worked for him for about 14 months where I worked my way through the company completing bigger jobs wh
ich included work for RG Spiller building services. When I left Wilkinson Electrical services I went and worked for Wallis Electrical as an approved electrician at the age of 21. I was now classed as an approved electrician because I put myself through the BS7671 wiring regulations course and the much sort after city & guilds 2391 further test and inspection course. When working for Wallis electrical I mainly did work for Ellis & Co, a restoration company from Shelton Mallet. The property's I did for Ellis & Co ranged from a church in the middle of Exeter high street next to house of Fraser, to a 8 bedroom holiday home in Weymouth over looking the harbour for the national trust. I also did a refit for Branstons potato factory near Ilminster. I left Wallis Electrical and joined A.P Chant building service at the age of 23. Working for A.P Chant I did a wide variety of work ranging from new builds which included heat recovery units, specialist led lighting designed to a renovation which also included a heat recovery unit and the lighting design was arranged between me and the client. The most challenging work was a rewire of a primary school in Weymouth which had a completion time of 6 weeks for Dorset council. Most of my work has involved me designing the installation or with the assistance of the customer advising them on different installations possible to install. The company's I have worked for have alowed me to pick up a wide variety of knowledge on different installations which also include agricultural. All work is to a very high standard and In my eyes communication is vital for a good installation.
