This beautiful garden was completed last spring. πΈππΊ
Working closely with this wonderful client, we were able to bring her design to life. It was a joy to work on from start to finish. π₯°ππ½π‘
The clever design utilizes every part of the garden, offering easier maintenance, functionality, and style. βοΈπ±π·
A variety of materials have been carefully selected and used, not only to break up areas and add interest but also to create different spaces within the garden. πͺ¨π§±πͺ΅
The cedar corner pergola was custom-built on-site using locally sourced and milled timber. πͺπ²π³
The pergola area offers a great opportunity to grow climbing plants and add height to the garden, and it also serves as a screen to help conceal the vegetable area behind. πΏπ«π
A gabion wall was constructed on a concrete foundation, with steel components welded to vertical concrete-filled tubes for support. These tubes provide the primary support for the 3.5 tonnes of stone within the baskets. The wall seamlessly integrates with its surroundings, offering enhanced privacy and wind protection. πͺ¨π§±π‘οΈ.
Given the soft ground conditions, deeper excavation was necessary to reach firm ground. The end paving sub-base depth was approximately 300mm, three times the typical depth. While this may seem extensive, it's crucial for long-term durability, a factor addressed during the initial consultation.πβ
