Are you tired of working for builders and developers who hold your money and beat you down on price all the time, while constantly promising you that they have a bigger and better project just around the corn

er…

are you paying a lot for leads only to find they are a waste of time or that six other electricians have been to quote for the same job…

It doesn’t have to be like this…

believe in generating their own work without depending on large contractors, developers or lead generating sites.

know that they can position themselves as the goto person in their area for their skill set

never compete on price and know that those who do are in a race to the bottom a race they would never want to win

think outside the box and know that marketing is a tool they need to master in order to build a business

Most do not need more information. They need implementation ⚡
The internet is full of advice.

Videos.
Podcasts.
Marketing tips.
Business “gurus”.

But consuming information is not the same as building a business.

Many electricians already know they need to improve their marketing, pricing, and positioning…

The problem is they are trying to do it alone.

Without support.
Without accountability.
Without a proper system

That is why things stay inconsistent.

My Electricians ToolBox is designed to help electricians actually implement what works through practical training, ongoing support, weekly live sessions, and a community of people facing the same challenges.

Because real progress comes from action, not just information.

If you are ready to stop consuming and start building, take a serious look at the ToolBox Community

How to Observe Your Market as an ⚡
Want to attract the right customers?

You need to understand them first. That means gathering data -both online and offline.

ONLINE:

✅ Check social media, forums, reviews, and blogs.
✅ See where your customers spend time and join the conversation.
✅ Engage in groups where they ask for recommendations and advice.

OFFLINE:

✅ Use surveys and casual chats with customers to learn more.
✅ Pay attention to what people say about electricians in your area.
✅ Ask yourself: Are they looking for the cheapest option, the best quality, or something in between?

And don’t just look at who they are, figure out why they buy.

➡️ Do they hire an electrician because they have to, need to, or want to?
➡️ What makes them pick one over another?
➡️ How do they feel about spending money on electrical work?

The better you understand your market, the easier it is to attract the right customers, and charge what you're worth.

If you want to learn how to define your ideal customer and build a local business that you control, download your free digital copy of The S.P.A.R.K.S. Blueprint to Marketing for Local Trades.

Can Networking Actually Work for ?
Or is it just time away from the tools?
Networking can be one of your biggest sources of new customers.
But only if you do it right.

It’s not about handing out business cards and hoping for the best. It’s about relationships.

And like any good relationship, it takes time and the right approach.
Here’s how to make networking work for you:

⚡ Find the right group. Visit a few in your area before committing. Not all will be a good fit.
⚡ Get involved. Don’t just sit there, talk to people, make connections.
⚡ Help first, gain later. Go in with a “How can I help others?” mindset, not “What can I get?” The more you give, the more will come back to you.

Done right, networking doesn’t just bring in work, it builds a reputation that keeps work coming in.

So, is networking worth your time? Absolutely. If you do it properly.

Be part of a growing community of electricians who know how to market, charge more, and win better jobs.

, Are You Still Believing This Myth About Marketing?

“If you’re good at what you do, you’ll never need to advertise.”

It sounds nice, doesn’t it? Do a good job, people talk, and the work just rolls in…
But here’s the truth: being good isn’t enough - not anymore.

You could be the best electrician in your town, but if no one knows you exist, you’ll still struggle to fill your diary.

This myth is holding too many decent tradesmen back.

We let word of mouth do all the heavy lifting, then get stuck in that feast or famine struggle.

🔥 Let’s stop letting outdated beliefs dictate our success.

Want to build a business that’s reliable, profitable, and not just based on luck?

Want a simple way to generate more local enquiries?
Leaflets still work.

The problem is that most electricians do not use them properly.

They print a few hundred leaflets and push them through every door they can find, hoping that someone calls.

Hope is not a strategy.

Instead, think about who is most likely to need your services and who is most likely to pay the prices you want to charge.

Look for homes with skips outside. Someone is investing money into their property.

Look for estate agent boards. People moving in often need electrical work done.

Look for signs that work is already taking place in an area.

When your marketing budget is limited, targeting matters.

A hundred leaflets delivered to the right homes will often outperform a thousand delivered at random.

Whether you have £50 or £5,000 to spend on marketing, every penny should be working hard to attract the right customers.

📢 Competing keeps you looking sideways.

You start watching what every other electrician is doing in your area. Bigger adverts. Flashier websites. More social media posts. Sponsorships that drain your margin. And the quickest trap of all, dropping your price just to stay in the game.

But here's the problem.

If copying your competition worked, you would already be fully booked.

And if it is not working for them, what makes you think it will suddenly work for you just because you do it louder or cheaper?

Price cutting is even worse. There will always be someone willing to go cheaper. Always. So if that is your strategy, you are not building a business, you are racing to the bottom.

⚡The real goal is not to compete.

⚡It is to dominate your local area.

To become the electrician people think of instantly when something goes wrong. The name that gets mentioned before anyone even starts searching online.

So ask yourself, are you trying to beat everyone else, or are you building something customers remember?

: are you actually in control of your marketing… or is it just happening to you?
Because whether you planned it or not, you’ve been marketing from day one.

Your van.
Your workwear.
Your page.
Your website.
Even the way you speak to builders on site.

It all tells a story about your business.
The real question is: is it the right story?

➡️ Are you positioning yourself as the expert, or just “another electrician who’s available”?
➡️ Are you attracting customers who value your work, or ones who just want the cheapest price?
➡️ Are you building a diary full of profitable jobs, or just filling gaps with whatever comes in?

This is where most electricians slip up.

They say yes to everything.
They take every job.
They let the market decide their value.

And slowly, they end up busy but not profitable.

Not every customer is the right customer.
Not every job deserves your time.

When you take control of your marketing, you start shaping the work that comes to you instead of chasing it.

Better customers. Better jobs. Better business.

That’s the difference.

Are you trying to be everything to everyone?
One of the biggest mistakes I see electricians make is taking any job, for any customer, in any location, just to keep the diary full.

The result?

You spend hours driving around, working for customers you do not enjoy working with, and taking on jobs that are often less profitable than they should be.

The reality is that the more specific you become about what you do, who you do it for, and where you do it, the easier marketing becomes.

When you know your ideal customer, your ideal work, and your ideal area, you stop chasing work and start attracting it.

Imagine...

✔️ Working with customers you actually enjoy serving
✔️ Doing more of the work you are good at and enjoy
✔️ Spending less time on the road and more time making money
✔️ Becoming known as the go-to electrician in your local area

You do not need more customers.

You need the right customers.
