Ever spotted a thin strip of mismatched panel squeezed between a vanity unit and the wall? That's a filler strip. And it's the quiet giveaway of a standard-spec job.

When cabinetry comes in fixed catalogue sizes, your room has to compromise. The fitter pads out the gap with an off-cut, runs a bead of silicone, and hopes you won't notice. You always do.

Made-to-measure works the other way around. We measure your room first, every alcove, every out-of-square wall, every awkward pipe boxing, then build the cabinetry to those exact dimensions. No filler strips. No off-cuts. Just clean lines from wall to wall.

After 40 years designing bathrooms across the North West, we've learned that the smarter choice isn't always the flashiest tap or the biggest shower. It's the millimetre-level fit that makes the whole room feel considered.

Pop into our Wilmslow showroom and we'll show you what the difference looks like up close. ✨

You've saved the photo. Maybe a dozen of them. A walk-in shower with stone-effect tiles, a vanity with brass handles, that bathroom from a hotel in Italy you can't stop thinking about.

The photo on a phone is never quite the whole story though. You can't feel the weight of the tap. You can't see how the light pools across the tile at 7am. You can't tell whether that vanity will actually breathe in your space, or crowd it.

That's why your first design appointment with us starts where it should: standing in front of the real thing. Our showroom near Wilmslow holds nearly 100 full room sets, the largest in South Manchester, so the leap from inspiration to decision isn't a leap at all. It's a conversation, beside a designer, in front of something you can touch.

After 40 years of designing bathrooms across the North West, we've learned that the best rooms begin with honest trade-offs. Where the soil pipe sits. How a rainfall head changes ceiling height. Whether bespoke cabinetry earns its keep against a standard run with filler strips. These are the questions we'll work through together, in person, with no pressure and no charge.

Bring the phone. Bring the screenshots. We'll help you turn them into a room that's properly yours. ✨

Most people plan their walk-in shower around how it looks. The ones who regret it planned around the wrong thing entirely.

After 40 years designing bathrooms across the North West, we've found the decisions that make or break a walk-in shower happen long before the first tile is laid. They're about water behaviour, glass placement, and how the space will work for everyone in the household, now and in ten years' time.

Swipe through for the three planning considerations most homeowners only discover after the job is done:

→ Why size on paper isn't size in practice
→ How glass placement controls where water actually goes
→ Why threshold height is worth getting right the first time

If you're starting to sketch out ideas, pop into our Wilmslow showroom. We'll talk through the details before they become regrets. 💧

Forty years ago, we took a phone call from a tiler in Cheshire who'd watched a freshly finished bathroom crack along every grout line within six months. The cause wasn't the tiles. It was the substrate underneath, flexing in a way nobody had thought to check.

That single bathroom taught us something we still use on every project today: the parts you can't see decide how long the parts you can see will last.

Four decades of real installations across the North West means we've watched materials age in actual homes. We know which sealants yellow after two winters in a south-facing wetroom. We know why natural stone needs a different adhesive in a Victorian terrace than it does in a new build off the A34. We know the questions to ask before a single tile is ordered.

That's what 40 years really buys you. Not a logo on a wall. Fewer costly mistakes, smarter material choices, and honest advice when a beautiful idea won't survive the way you actually live.

If you're planning a bathroom this year, come and talk it through with us at the Wilmslow showroom. We'll tell you what we'd do, what we wouldn't, and why. ✨

A customer walked into our Heald Green showroom last week with a photo of a frameless walk-in shower she'd fallen for. Three questions in, we'd already spotted why that exact layout would have shrunk her bathroom by half.

She left with something she liked even more, and a much better understanding of what was driving the difference.

After planning hundreds of walk-in showers across the North West, we've found four decisions matter far more than the inspiration image:

→ Room size and glass panel layout. The same shower in a different position can open a space up or close it in.

→ Drainage position. Often locked in before tiling begins, and almost impossible to move later without lifting the floor.

→ Frameless vs. framed. Beyond looks, it changes glass thickness, fixings, and how the enclosure feels day to day.

→ Enclosure height. A small detail that quietly decides whether the room feels airy or boxed in.

If you're at the early stage of planning yours, bring the photo. Bring the rough dimensions. We'll talk you through what works in your space before any decisions are set in stone. ✨

You bring a photo to the showroom. The designer looks at your floor plan and says, "That won't quite fit the way you're imagining it."

It's a conversation we have most weeks at our Wilmslow showroom. Walk-in showers look effortless in photos, but the reality involves real decisions about floor space, glass panels, and how the room will work 15 years from now.

So before your design appointment, three things worth thinking through:

✦ Why 900mm of usable floor space is the difference between open and cramped
✦ How a frameless glass panel can make a small bathroom feel twice as large
✦ The future-proofing question most people forget to ask

Swipe through, then come and talk it through with us. After 40 years designing bathrooms across the North West, we'd rather help you think like a designer before you commit to a layout.

Something happens to a bathroom in June. The light pours in at angles you never get in winter, and suddenly every grout line, every tile edge, every cabinet gap is on full display. We hear it most weeks after a sunny weekend: "the room looked fine until it really didn't."

That long summer light is the most honest test your bathroom will face all year. Hairline gaps where tiles meet walls, sealant that's drifted from white to yellow, a vanity sitting a few millimetres proud of the wall. These things hide happily under grey North West skies from October to March. June finds them all.

Most of it traces back to two decisions made on installation day. Whether proper tile movement joints were designed in to absorb the natural expansion of stone and porcelain. And whether the sealant specified was a grade built for daily steam and UV exposure, or the cheaper tube that looks identical on day one and tired by year two. After 40 years of fitting bathrooms across Wilmslow and the wider North West, we've learned those small specifications are what separate a bathroom that ages beautifully from one that simply ages.

If you're sitting in yours this week wondering what you're actually looking at, that's useful information. Bring it to us before you commit to a renovation brief. We'll walk through what's worth keeping, what's worth rethinking, and what good installation should look like the next time round. ☀

A customer sat in our Wilmslow showroom last month and apologised for asking too many questions. We had to stop her right there.

There is no such thing as too many questions when you're investing in a bespoke bathroom. These projects regularly run beyond £10,000, and the difference between a beautiful result and a costly surprise often comes down to what gets discussed before the first tile is cut.

So ask us why we've chosen that particular tile layout. Ask what happens if the floor isn't level once we open the walls. Ask how we're handling the waterproofing behind the shower panels, what that line in the quote actually covers, and what it costs you if you change your mind on a finish halfway through.

After 40 years of designing bathrooms across the North West, we've learned that the best projects start with the most curious clients. Your questions help us design something that genuinely fits your home, your habits, and your budget.

Curiosity isn't being difficult. It's respect for the investment, and we welcome every bit of it. 🛁

You've saved a hundred bathroom ideas to a Pinterest board. Now you need to know which ones actually feel right in person.

That's the reason we built the largest bespoke fitted bathroom showroom in the North West. Nearly 100 full room sets, all under one roof in Wilmslow.

Walk through a wetroom and feel the warmth of the underfloor heating. Stand under a rainfall shower at full height. Run your hand across natural stone, brushed brass, and matt porcelain side by side. Open a bespoke vanity drawer and see how it closes.

After 40 years of designing bathrooms across the region, we've learned that no swatch, render, or screen can replace standing inside the space. Scale, light, and proportion only make sense when you're in the room.

Bring your plans, your measurements, or just your ideas. We'll walk the showroom with you and help you make smarter choices before a single tile is ordered. ✨

A customer walked into our Heald Green showroom last week with a photo saved on their phone. Beautiful bathroom. They wanted it exactly like that.

Then we measured their actual room, and the photo started lying to them.

Cameras compress space. That dreamy bathroom you've pinned was almost certainly shot with a wide-angle lens that adds 30% more visual room than really exists. Which means the tile format, the shower screen, the fixture placement that looked perfect on screen will feel completely different on your floor plan.

The good news? A few smart design choices can make a small bathroom feel twice as large. Large-format tiles, frameless glass, where you place the visual boundary. Each one either fights the compression or works with it.

Swipe through. We've broken down the three choices that shift how big your space actually feels. ✨
