It’s been a tough few months as my dad — my best friend — lost his battle with cancer.

I stepped away from work to spend every moment I could by his side. When the time came, me and my younger brother built his casket by hand, in his garden, to give him the send-off he deserved.

He was a carpenter — the reason I got into the trade. Even through treatment and pain, he’d show up to my jobs to get a few hours in, or video call to tell me how he would’ve done it. He never stopped showing interest in the work.

I’ll keep creating. I’ll keep making him proud.

Thank you to everyone for your patience — it means a lot to be back doing what I love.

Rest easy Dad, you were one of a kind.
