Delivering safe, vibrant spaces in the heart of the city.

We recently completed 70m² of rubber crumb safety surfacing at Acorn House, a newly developed mixed-use scheme in Central London, delivered for Myco Ltd.

Using high-quality EPDM materials supplied by Conica, the scheme incorporated a vibrant blend of Sky Blue, May Green, and Yellow - designed to create an engaging and safe play environment for young residents.

Located at Acorn House on Gray’s Inn Road, the development brings together affordable housing, commercial space, and thoughtfully designed amenities, including a dedicated external play area for under-fives.

Our scope focused on delivering:

• A compliant, impact-absorbing safety surface
• A visually engaging finish to enhance the play space
• A durable solution suited to a high-use urban environment

The TP Group’s Passive Fire Protection division has been proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, delivering fire protection and fire door services at several of their ‘home away from home’ houses across the UK.

The charity supports families with seriously ill children by providing free accommodation and vital support at 14 locations, all closely partnered with NHS hospitals.

As part of this ongoing support, The TP Group has donated three professional carpet and upholstery cleaners, helping House teams maintain welcoming, comfortable spaces for families staying at their Houses.

Sarah‑Jayne Bevis, Facilities Manager at Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to The TP Group for their generous donation of equipment, which will benefit three of our houses, as well as for the excellent work carried out by their Passive Fire Protection team in helping to enhance the safety of our facilities.”

Mark Whitbread, Passive Fire Protection Survey Manager at The TP Group, added:

🚧 Project in Progress | London Borough of Southwark

We’re currently on site delivering a resin flooring package on behalf of A&E Elkins Ltd for the London Borough of Southwark.

Our team has been commissioned to install a cost-effective solution across internal corridors, walkways, landings, and staircases, helping to enhance both durability and safety for residents.

For this project, we’ve specified the Contar Resins Dekor Bronze System , selected for its fast-curing properties. This allows us to keep access restrictions to a minimum and significantly reduce disruption for those living on site - a key priority throughout the programme.

This project is a great example of how thoughtful product selection and in-house expertise enable us to deliver efficient, resident-focused solutions without compromising on quality.

Our team recently completed a 120m² resin bound installation at the Butterfly House at Jimmy’s Farm, delivering a finish that balances performance with visual appeal.

Working with Addagrip’s Rustic Cove blend, the brief was clear:

• A seamless surface with no loose aggregate
• A natural aesthetic to complement the surroundings
• A larger aggregate size to enhance texture and durability

With higher internal temperatures to contend with, our team implemented an early start on site to ensure optimal installation conditions and maintain quality throughout.

Why should Surveys & Fire inspections always lead somewhere?

A Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) isn’t the finish line. It’s the starting point. Yet one of the biggest risks we see is nothing happens next.

Reports are filed.

Actions get delayed.

Responsibility becomes unclear.

Meanwhile, the risks identified are still there. The real issue isn’t the FRA - it’s the gap that follows it.

We regularly come across buildings where:

- Fire doors are flagged but not properly remediated
- Fire stopping issues remain open months later
- There’s no clear audit trail of completed works

At The TP Group we take a proactive and supportive approach to mental health and wellbeing.

In addition to our team of qualified Mental Health First Aiders, last week we chose to mark Mental Health Awareness Week by hosting a series of activities and sharing helpful links, tips and information with our team.

Activities included free exercise classes, self-care baskets for staff to add to and take from, and a Mental Health Matters coffee morning. We also shared information on giving up smoking, financial health, desk stretches, specific men's mental health support, mindfulness apps, healthy eating recipes, local walking routes and more.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our Mental Health First Aiders and our HR Wellbeing team for their excellent work supporting our staff.
