A bathroom refurbishment for a lovely customer, the mother of a previous customer! Nothing like recommendations and a joy to work for.
Just waiting for the mastic joints to be done.

The bathroom is nearly finished and fitted a new 3.6m lintel to a large window for a new customer.

This week saw the end to a local project, lovely returning customers.
Their cottage was not so well insulted so in rectifying that, we came across a lot of rotten framing and bad construction from previous attempts to shore it up.
Anyhow, new wall constructed, insulated and plastered with a new upvc window. New hall ceiling and rehang an existing door.

A bit of screeding this week, not my favourite of jobs, but turned out flat and smooth 👍🏽

Christmas is quickly approaching!! 🎄

Last week was a perfect week to carry out some roof repairs on a commercial site. This building is about 1950 and is an office. The company had noticed a leak back in 2024 and we went and patch repaired the cause.
We went back last week and replaced a lead valley, a small flat roof with fibreglass and some lead flashing to a lower roof. Finished off with a bitumen coating to a flat concrete roof, to improve its weather tightness.
All ready for winter!

Yesterday was ‘good deed day!’ Great Waltham village hall is a charity and run by a very busy group of volunteers, of which I am one.
The door to the outside store had been nailed shut for probably 50 years as it had dropped and had a fair bit of rot in it.
I did my best with it and although it looks a little like ‘Frankensteins Monster’, it does now open and close and locks. Hopefully with a lick of paint it will last a few years longer ( door circa 1870!)
Look at the lovely latch and lock on it 😁
