June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month

In construction, we’re often expected to get on with it, push through the tough days, and keep moving forward.

But mental health is just as important as physical health.

Many men struggle in silence with stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, financial pressures, relationship breakdowns, and the daily demands of work and family life.

At East Counties Construction, we want to remind everyone that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness. It takes strength to speak up.

Whether it’s a colleague, friend, family member, or someone you work alongside every day, take a moment to check in. A simple conversation can make a huge difference.

Experienced Groundworks Labourer Required

East Counties Construction Ltd

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Groundworks Labourer to join our growing team on a self-employed basis.

Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience in groundworks and construction labouring
• Valid CSCS Card
• Own transport and ability to travel to site
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions

Preferred:
• Based in or around the Chelmsford area
• CPCS or NPORS Dumper and/or Roller tickets (advantageous but not essential)
• Experience assisting with drainage, foundations, concrete works, kerbing, paving and general groundworks activities

About the Role:
Our projects are generally located within one hour of Chelmsford, although occasionally sites may be up to 1.5 hours away.

Projects vary in size and duration, meaning we regularly move between sites as works are completed. Lifts can often be arranged where practical if you live en route to a site or can meet at an agreed location.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, turns up when they say they will, and wants to be part of a small, hardworking team delivering quality groundworks projects across Essex and the surrounding counties.

Piled ground beams complete, substructure blockwork up, and now we’re ready for the beam & block floor installation later this week 🔥
