Recent job of a fractured copper tap tail. Customer reported a small leak coming beneath the worktop. On closer inspection the leak only appeared when the tap was shut off quickly - Due to the water hammer.

Tap was removed to expose the fracture.
Tails were replaced and pipework below counter amended as previous pipework was not compatible with new tails.

Scale cleaned from tap body and reinstalled. As good as new.

Whilst installing new pipework for an extension this morning we found this nice little concoction of brands.

In this case JG Speedfit pipe inserted into Hep20 fittings is not best practice and can sometimes invalidate certain manufacturers warranty claims.

It could be the case that this may never cause an issue, but the cost of replacing pipework and fittings is hugely less than the cost of refurbishing after a leak.

During and after installation.

The flow and returns to the existing radiator were badly kinked and damaged resulting in loss of flow and weeping compression joints.
This was all taken out and new 15mm flow and return pipes fitted along with Thermostatic Radiator Valves to the radiator.

Despite carpets and floorboards being removed for access. The final result shows that with thought and care there is no sign of the works taking place.
