⚡ A BUSY FEW WEEKS AT PILGRIM ELECTRICAL SERVICES ⚡

It’s been a busy few weeks since my last post, so here’s a little mixture of some of the work I’ve been carrying out recently.

🔌 Consumer unit replacement – upgrading an existing installation with a new modern consumer unit.

💨 Continuously running extractor fan – installation of a new extractor fan to provide improved ventilation.

☎️ Power supply to a traditional phone box – complete with wireless kinetic switches, allowing the lighting to be controlled without the need for traditional wiring to the switches.

💡 Loft lighting installation – making a previously dark and awkward space much more practical and usable.

Every job is different, but the aim is always the same — safe, tidy and professional electrical work, with attention to detail from start to finish.

🌙 The evenings are starting to draw in…

As we slowly head towards darker evenings, now is a great time to make sure your outside lighting is doing its job. 💡

This was a recent installation, with exterior lighting fitted around the front of the property to provide both practical lighting and a great finish once the sun goes down. Controlled via a decreet PIR sensor

⚡️Another job completed this week for Pilgrim Electrical Services⚡️

The job started with a full Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to assess the condition of the existing electrical installation.

Following the inspection and testing, it was decided that the existing consumer unit was due an upgrade. We then replaced it with a new modern consumer unit, providing improved protection and a much cleaner, more organised installation.

🪛 Work included:

✅️ Full EICR and electrical testing
✅️ Consumer unit replacement
✅️ New protective devices
✅️ Circuit identification and labelling
✅️ Full testing and verification following installation
✅️ Final checks to ensure everything was safe and operating correctly

Where appropriate, I always recommend carrying out an EICR before replacing a consumer unit. This allows the existing installation to be assessed first and identifies any issues that may need attention before installing the new board.

⚡ Another reminder of why EICRs are so important for landlords

These are just a few of the issues I came across while carrying out recent Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on rental properties.

A recent job completed installing a new weatherproof outdoor socket, providing a safe and convenient power source for outdoor equipment.
