First bit of solo dry stone walling I’ve done since 2018! Not perfect, and a bit tricky to tie it into the existing wall, but I’m pretty happy with it. Hopefully it will stay stood up for a few hundred years! 😬 🪨 ☀️

Hey everyone, it seems spring has finally sprung! Naturally, this means our gardens are really waking up now.

I’m really pushing my values as a gardener, focusing on natural and friendly ways of caring for our gardens.

If you have a garden, or any outdoor space, and you are after a conscious gardener to care for it, then I’m your man!

I prioritise biodiversity, food production, and beauty, over tidiness, minimalism and “low maintenance”. I consider the birds, the bees, the butterflies, and all the other little creatures that don’t get the air time they deserve! I think about soil health, beneficial relationships within the garden, the gardens overall health.

I know there are people out there that value what I offer.

Could you please help me spread the word, by liking my page, sharing my posts etc

Together, we could make the world a better place! 🙂

Here we go, this is my propagation area, or as I like to call it, the propagation station 2.0. Over the next few months, this will fill with plants, all ready to fill beds on my allotment.

This is what I’ve been upto on the allotment. I’ve cleared an area, and I am going to plant it up with useful plants (veg, fruit, herbs, plants for pollinators etc). It’s a simple method to create a quick, low cost growing area, no need for landscaping, expensive materials or hard labour! All made using materials from the allotment, old bricks, well rotten wood chips, oh and all the cardboard I steal on blue bin day! It might not look as fancy as a hard landscaped space, but it is the plants that will really set this are off! I will get back with pictures through the spring and summer to show its transformation 🐝 🌺 ☀️ 🌱
Excuse all the debris in the background, that’s getting sorted and used in other areas!

This year I’ll be growing more perennial food crops (plants that keep coming back year after year), things like berries, herbs, greens. Not only are these less energy intensive and time consuming, but they are more resilient, coping better with the long droughts we have been experiencing. I have a prepared a 5m x 5m patch on the allotment, and I aim to get as much food as possible out of this area, as well as creating habitat and resources for other species like bees, butterflies etc. I’m wanting to create a healthy ecosystem, but also produce food at the same time.

If you want your hedges sorting, now is the time! Birds will starting nesting in spring, so big cut backs will be a no go 🐦 ☀️ 🪺 Also, if you’d like to start growing your own food, or just more plants and flowers in your garden, now is a good time to make beds for planting!

It's me! I'm back!

It will soon be time for that big fireball in the sky to start pumping out some heat again! And our gardens are already beginning to wake up, ready for those spring days.

So I am here for the tidying jobs, but more so I'm wanting to pump some life back in to peoples outdoor spaces. I have been studying ecology and conservation, permaculture and horticulture, and I'm desperate to start implementing what I have learnt, and what is bouncing around in my brain!

So, if you'd like your hedges/shrubs/fruit trees tidying up, you want more biodiversity in your gardens, or you want to start growing your own fresh, nutrient dense, and delicious food, please get in touch! I'm happy to just give advice too 🙂
