Loft conversion re-roof
Sb Hewitt building services recently completed a loft conversion and a replaced the roof of our house, including two velux windows. The work was completed in the specified time scale and they did a great job. All issues were sorted with out any problems, and I was extremely satisfied with the work and there work ethic.

I would highly recommend Sean and Billy for any building, roofing work that anyone may require.

Huge 2 story extension 2024
Reference - Throughout 2024, S B Hewitt Construction took care of our house extension. Which involved a two-story side extension and lower rear build. Through the whole process Sean & Billy were fantastic and the work was excellent, and to an extremely high standard.

We would not hesitate to recommend them for any building work large or small. As the pride they take in the job is second to none.

Reference- had Sean and Billy Hewett build a single story extension to our bungalow which was bult in the 80’s.

It was to be a new master bedroom with an en-suite, I had plans drawn up and opened an account with a local builders merchants.

The design was a little unusual from the point of view that the building needed to be raised around a metre from the surrounding ground and a path built to continue join up with an existing path to be able to access the patio. I Also to wanted to raise the ground around the extension to level the garden off (and improve drainage), by the spoils created by the footings and site clearance.

I was very impressed with the attitude of both men, and their building skills, they take great pride in their work and even offer advice regarding improvements on safe and efficient working along with visual aspects of the build.

As I mentioned the build was unusual to their normal way of working, as we had very few skips, because all the spoils were reused on site and due to this the working area could not have been kept as clean as it could have been. But they accepted this as they could see my logic.

The time schedule was very accurate taking into account the weather and time of year, so I had no complaints.

Overall we have been very happy with Sean and Billys work on our project right through to the end, and wouldn’t hesitate to contact them again if we were too embark on another.

Bunglaow Extension completed summer 2023
Reference- We employed Sean and Billy to build an extension to our bungalow between July and October 2023 .
They had previously built us a retaining garden wall at our old property and done a good job so when Sean gave us a competitive quote we had no hesitation in using them again. The build involved knocking down a garage and conservatory and replacing them with the extension. Both Sean and Billy again did an excellent job and despite some awful weather were always cheerful and helpful. They completed the work to a high standard and we were very pleased with the result. We would recommend them and would use them again for any future projects.

Re-roof completed April 2023
Reference- We are very pleased with Hewitt Construction’s complete re-roof of our detached property. Builders as well as roofers, they were able to deal with a number of issues presented by our 1939 property; e.g. installation of specialist insulation in the eaves. Sean and Billy were friendly, easy to deal with, and reliable: always returning phone calls and arriving on time, despite periods of rain hail and snow! Sean also dealt with scaffolders, skips hire and tile suppliers for us.

Re-roof Glassworks pub complete Feb 2023

Referencr- We used Sean and billy and the Team to do a complete Re-roofing at one of our Pubs- The Glassworks on Sheffield Road. From the moment we accepted the quote, the level of service and assistance we got from Sean was second to none & the work they carried out was of a very high standard & it totally transformed the
look of the Building.

Bungalow extension completed- summer 2022
Reference - We moved into our 1960s bungalow in 2020 with a view to modernising its interior and adding a wrap-around rear/side extension. Plans were drawn up and developed during 2021 and following planning permission, several building contractors were approached to explore how best to proceed with the project. SB Hewitt Construction was selected because we were familiar with some of their previous work in the area and they proposed a very reasonable and realistic estimate of labour costs.

They also have a policy of concentrating on one project at a time which gave us confidence in the estimated starting date and length of time to completion. We wanted to continue living in the property despite the disruption, and they had a good understanding of how this could be made to work in practice without slowing down progress. They also offered to introduce us to subsidiary contractors, i.e. electricians, plumbers, plasterers, kitchen companies, etc., or they could let us select our own. In practice we did both and were able to determine in advance the additional cost of employing these different trades whom we paid directly. Construction of the extension started a little earlier than expected in 2022 and was essentially completed on time, despite a delay with the delivery of steel, which was outside their control. During the building phase, we were reassured that the building inspectors were satisfied with the works they came to check at various key stages of construction.

With the extension essentially complete, other trades took over for a while, but there remained certain work to complete in the original structure, so we negotiated a second phase of works which took place early in 2023. Finally, we asked them to return later in 2023 to do some new paving to the rear. All told, this was a very successful, high-quality project, not least because these builders try hard to foster a good relationship with their customer, their communication was good, and they take the trouble to explain any problems and how they can be overcome. We would recommend anyone contemplating a significant home improvement project to consider SB Hewitt Construction for reliable high-quality work.

Re roof completed 0ctober 2022
Reference -Very pleased with the work that Sean and his team did when they carried out a re-roof of my property on Alexandra Road West.
