Im sharing my story so others wont make the same mistake. Our business was only 10 months old when l signed up, so still learning and making expensive mistakes.

The joys of running a business. You think and believe everyone who runs a business is trying to help you do better, by supplying you quality goods, services or software.
We think what we offer is a genuine service and so does Search it Local who built me a website.
After having a bad experience with a previous website developer company from BNI l was made to feel this company was different.

I didnt think a £2500 free voucher meant l was not allowed to keep a website, you would think it was like a freebie to get you on board with them.

After 2 years l have decided to leave Search it Local based in Sidcup, as l wasn't getting the service l asked for. No reports after 6 months. No communication. No analytics, no emails. Nothing except a direct debit coming out of my bank account every month.

Only after giving notice to leave that they say l cant take the website with me. Its cost me the best part of £8500 over 2 years to have it. But its not mine. I was merely renting it. Had l known l wouldn't have signed up. I clearly didnt ask the right questions at the start because l assumed l wasnt going to be £8000 out of pocket and without a website. I mean why do they want to keep the design? Its only based on a WordPress site. Nothing very technical to build. But to them its theirs.

How would you feel? How would you react? Would you fight your corner or walk away?
Im having to get a new website built now costing me another £2000-£3000 plus ongoing seo and support.

This time l found a guy who is ex military and has been absolutely amazing since l began talk with them 3 months ago by Apex-Marketing-Solutions Ltd

I'm now getting a new Website designed and will share the new design once its launched. I already know it will be 100 x better than what Search it Local created. His 25yrs vs their 5yrs?

Customer said that the bees moved in around a year ago and that now they were becoming too aggressive to work with, or use the garden, so requested for Beekind to have them humanely removed and rehomed. The thermal camera picked up the nest location but once we had the floor opened up, it revealed a 5-6yr old colony.

3 x 25kg of honeycomb removed

Finished at around 3.30pm at 34oC temperatures. Both of us got stung but it was a very aggressive colony and the guard bees followed us all the way from the back of the garden to the front of the house.

I am returning today to get the floor rebuilt back to how it was with new materials and bee proofing so bees can never get back under again.

A busy day today travelling from Wiltshire to Somerset, then into Bristol then up to Gloucestershire then back to Wiltshire to carry out the last wasp nest in a beee suit at 29oC!

A total of 7 wasp nests all treated, all guaranteed for 2026 and my “bald head solar panel” fully charged. It actually got burned in the sun today even with factor 50 sunscreen on.

Tomorrow Wednesday 8th - 31oC
2 x honeybee surveys + 3 wasp nests 🥵

Then… Thursday 9th we have a honeybee removal with temperatures reaching 32-34oC

Whenever l put my bee suit on, l always question my choice of career 😂😂😂

We remove a huge honeybee colony building comb under floorboards in a converted attic in Tetbury!

The queen was found which makes the extraction a huge success plus we removed around 80kg of honeycomb!

If any honey becomes available to buy we will let our followers know. All l can say it was flipping delicious!

We have another honeybee removal booked for Thursday this week so stay tuned to see how big this one has grown to!

Some customers you cant please no matter how much you do for them, even if you go the extra mile.

Then you get some customers who cant thank you enough. The universe always finds a way to balance everything out.

Small acts of kindness go a long way. Especially as we try to deliver a personal service and offer guarantees with our treatments/proofing solutions.

3 Honeybee colonies booked in for

Friday 3rd July - Lyneham - Internal extraction
Bees getting in under window ledge - 1 month old

Monday 6th July - Tetbury - Under floorboards - getting in via hole in stone wall - 8-10yrs old

Thursday 9th July - Calne - Getting in under Garden office/shed floorbase - 2 colonies - 1 x 1.5yrs old 1 x 3 months old

We are going to be using DJI Osmo and GoPro cameras, some l will try to use ad FPV so the camera will be looking at exactly what l see.

We have a beekeeper coming to collect each one so far but if situation changes l will be seeking for another beekeeper to rehome them.

Last 2 colonies l posted about doing unfortunately had issues so didnt post them. One had built comb in a gas fire flue, customer put gas fire on to try and convince them to move on, unknowingly killed them with the carbon monoxide emissions. The other colony melted in then heat and collapsed down the chimney so we couldnt save either.
Fingers crossed these next 4 colonies can be saved and rehomed. We try where we can but sometimes things just dont go to plan.

We are called out to save and rehome a bumblebee colony that is preventing the home owners from enjoying their garden. They didn't want them sprayed so they called Beekind to get them rehomed.

Once the screws were out, minus 1 that was rounded off, I was able to get the single board lifted which exposed the colony. It was completely covered in wax moth silk, eggs and larvae. If I had not been asked to rehome them, l don't think they would have survived much longer as the whole nest was being consumed faster than the queen and workers could build new shells to put the eggs in.

Hopefully now that they are with me in my garden, I can keep an eye on them and prevent further issues from happening and try and get this colony to survive all the way to September/October.

Why we carry out surveys using drones and thermal cameras, borescopes and stethoscopes!

Using a drone for roof tops, chimneys or difficult to see areas helps us quickly identify where the bees are getting into your property.
It helps identify any
✅ Cracks, broken or damaged mortar
✅️ Broken, loose, missing tiles
✅️ Cracked, damaged, missing flaunching
✅ The condition of the chimney, roof, walls
✅ Why bees have got in,
✅ Where the scaffolding/tower will be installed.

If we can do an internal extraction we use the thermal camera to locate the colony and work out where we need to cut into the floor, wall or ceiling so as to make as little mess and damage as possible. Some walls or ceilings will have celotex behind so thermal camera wont always find the colony, so we use stethoscopes and borescopes to locate the comb then we can check where the point of entry will be.

Once we fully expose the hive, we can then safely extract it and get the brood into frames, the honeycomb seperated into food grade buckets and then locate the queen. Once we have her in the queen catcher, we can then get the rest of the colony into the box with the brood ready to be rehomed to a beekeeper.
