High Tatras. Slovakia.
3 days. 3 people. 3 mountain huts. 34 km.
Following the blue trail from Tatranská Lomnica to Zbojnícka Chata, continuing the next day to Zamkovského Chata, and finally taking the red-marked Tatra Magistrale across rocky scree slopes and ancient avalanche fields to Chata pri Zelenom plese.
Over 34 kilometres of hiking and around 1,400 metres of total ascent.
Every step is rewarded with something far greater than the effort: crisp mountain air, breathtaking peaks, crystal-clear streams, and a silence that words can never truly capture.
In the mountains, you quickly remember how small you are in comparison to nature. Towering granite walls, traces of old avalanches, and the endless valleys of the High Tatras leave you speechless. At the same time, they bring clarity. Your thoughts settle. All that remains is the present moment.
This is where life finds its proper perspective. What matters is your next breath, the next step, the people walking beside you, and the quiet gratitude for being part of such an extraordinary world.
Sometimes the greatest journey isn’t measured in kilometres, but in the path that leads you back to yourself. A few days with a backpack, moving from one mountain hut to the next, can become a source of inspiration—for life, for work, and for everything that truly matters. ❤️
