Job Advertisement: piling operative/ steel fixing / Groundworker (Self-Employed)

Location: Various Sites (must have own transport to the yard)

Start Date: Mid January 2024

We are currently seeking a hardworking and forward-thinking person. piling operative, steel fixer and Groundworker to join our team on a self-employed basis. The ideal candidates will be reliable, committed, and willing to learn if they don't have experience.

Key Requirements:Full, valid driving licence Valid CSCS card Must be able to work away from home Hardworking, motivated, and forward-thinking attitude Own transport to commute to the yard Responsibilities: Steel fixing work on various construction sites Piling Engineer/ Groundworker Assist with piling and groundworks operations on-site Be willing to travel and work away as required Maintain high standards of safety and quality on site. The Challenge :
Piled Foundations UK Ltd were awarded the contract to install 144 220mm Diameter piles to a depth of 12 meters. The constructions of 284 meters of steel reinforced 600mm x 500mm ground beams and framework to this development.
The Result :
The piles and ground beams were completed 2 weeks ahead of schedule to the delight of the client.

The Challenge :
Piled foundations Uk Ltd were awarded the contract to construct a massive printing press base 48 meters long by 2.6 meters wide by 1.2 meters deep.

First stage was to break out the existing 200mm thick concrete slab after the slab had been diamond sawed all around the perimeter of the base. Then to excavate 1.2 meters depth of spoil and remove outside of warehouse and taken away by grab lorries.

Second stage was to install 5 tons of 32mm diameter steel reinforcement and concrete using a concrete pump.

Third stage involved excavations of logistic pits at each end of the piles base 4 in total. Then we installed reinforced and wooden framework.

The final stage required us to install 900mm high formwork and steel reinforcement to form concrete plinths for the new press to be installed.

The Result :
Total time of this contract took 6 weeks and the customer was very impressed.

First stage of this project completed in Lytham st Annes, with the second stage to follow on within the coming weeks.

Firstly the ground beam where excavated 650mm wide by 300mm deep, followed up by a total of 18no. mini piles were driven.

The steel reinforcement was then dropped into place and all tied together to the spec of the structural engineers specification.

Finally the concrete was poured the following day after the local building control inspector had passed the works.

A job completed recently in Blackpool.

A new build for a detatched bungalow that consisted of 31no. piles ranging in diameter form 150mm up to 220mm.

We then excavated the ground beams following on with the steel reinforment being all dropped into placed and tied together.

Finally the concrete was poured via a concrete boom pump to finish off the job.
