🏡 Hallway, Landing & Staircase – Great Bentley

Another enjoyable decorating project completed for a new customer in Great Bentley.

This was a new-build property, and unfortunately, there was quite a bit of preparation needed before any painting could begin. Cracks, gaps, rough surfaces and areas of poor finishing all needed attention first.

I always feel for customers in this situation. If a property has been decorated to a high standard from the start, many of these issues simply wouldn’t need to be rectified later.

🛠️ Preparation & Repairs

• Ceiling and walls fully sanded
• Cracks, holes and gaps repaired
• Hallway floor silicone completely removed after turning yellow
• Replaced with a waterproof, flexible sealant for a cleaner, longer-lasting finish

🎨 Decorating

The walls were painted in Farrow & Ball No. 285 Cromarty, colour matched into GoodHome washable paint — giving the customer the look they wanted with a more cost-effective, durable paint.

Architraves, skirting boards and the staircase were:
• Sanded
• Thoroughly cleaned
• Undercoated
• Finished with Dulux White Satin

Recent Bedroom Decoration – Brightlingsea

A recently completed bedroom decoration for an existing customer in Brightlingsea.

The work included:

• Filling and repairing holes, cracks and gaps
• Thorough sanding of the ceilings and walls

• Feature wall finished in Dulux Sapphire Salute Silk

Bedroom completed for an existing customer in Great Bentley. 👌

There was a fair amount of preparation involved with this project due to the way the MDF partition wall had been installed.

The customer wanted one feature wall wallpapered with the aim of creating a seamless pattern, making the cupboard door almost invisible.

The walls and inside of the cupboard were painted in Dulux Just Walnut Matt, giving the room a warm, modern finish.

The woodwork will be completed at a later date.

A beautifully finished hallway, landing and staircase completed for one of my valued returning customers in Brightlingsea.

🏡 Another interior woodwork project completed for a new customer in Brightlingsea.

All woodwork throughout the hallway, staircase, landing and living areas was prepared and painted using the correct process to achieve a high-quality finish that not only looks great but is built to last.

Preparation is the most important part of any decorating job, and no shortcuts were taken. All gaps, cracks and imperfections were filled and repaired before every surface was thoroughly sanded and cleaned to create the perfect base for painting.

The woodwork was then coated with Zinsser 123 Plus primer where required, followed by a full undercoat and finished with Dulux White Satin, leaving a smooth, durable finish that will stand up to everyday wear and tear.

It's always satisfying to see tired, worn woodwork brought back to life and looking fresh, clean and bright again.

New customer in Holland on sea.

This bathroom renovation was definitely a challenge! The room had been suffering from mould, along with multiple cracks in the ceiling and walls, so a lot of preparation work was needed to achieve a finish I was truly happy with.
Preparation is everything in this job — get that right, and the painting becomes the easier part.

Another hallway, staircase & landing transformed for an existing customer in Great Bentley ✨

This one needed plenty of prep work before the decorating could begin — multiple wall cracks and gaps repaired, with all ceilings and walls fully sanded for a smooth finish throughout.

🎨 Loft hatch, architraves, window sill & skirting boards finished in Dulux water-based white gloss

The woodwork had previously been painted in oil-based paint, so it required extra preparation, priming and undercoating before applying the final topcoat — but the end result was well worth it 👌
