Attended a property to address an issue with the lighting circuit. Upon inspection, it was clear that the wiring did not meet current standards. We have corrected this, ensuring everything was compliant with UK regulations. ⚡💡
For domestic lighting circuits in the UK, it’s essential to use a minimum of 1.0mm² cable, although 1.5mm² is often preferred for added durability. The circuit should be protected by a 6A circuit breaker, and all connections must be securely terminated. Additionally, all work should be RCD protected for safety and in line with the latest regulations.
When fitting pendant lights, it’s worth noting that the flexes don’t always come straight out of the box. You’ll need to spend a bit of time straightening them to ensure a neat and professional finish. (Photos prior to leaving)
