so i have a genuine question.

is it just me or would anyone else walk away from a doing a "proper job", im not sure if im getting old and grumpy or just sick of LL wanting me to role a turd in glitter.

another recent call was to go and investigate why the tiles were falling off inside a ground floor bathroom, after a good look around it was clear the whole property had huge rising damp issues especially in the bathroom, LL wanted to to remove the bath KEEP IT, cover the walls with upvc panles and reinstall the old bath.

after i explained the issues and the remedy to fix it properly, i was asked the 6million dollar question...How much "roughly" so i said ball park 8-10k full rip out, remove all damp plaster, damp course, re render walls, re paster, and new bathroom suit.

then the awkward silence, and reply "the house its valued at that much really, and the rent doesn't bring in a lot". is there any other options

"yes" you can waste your money elsewhere as there will be someone out there happy to take you 2k and see you back here in 12 months its just not me, and with that the call was ended

anyone else been here, or would you have just taken the job on for the money??

So was talking to the customer today, and it turns out she decided to go with us because we listened to her requests and requirments and came up with the solution 4 other companies missed

Her issue was that the way the kitchen had been designed the water meter would have been almost impossible to acess once the kitchen was in

So I simply ill relocate the meter, inside the cavity that was once the back door and house it in a Gas box unit.

(Dont panic ill be lagging and insulating inside the box for the nippy weather)

To me it seemed like a simple solution, but it turns out im a genius so yeah im a genius

Thats all hahaha
