⚡Gas bills are rising again. Heat pump homes barely feel it.

Ofgem's latest price cap update (effective 1 October) makes it clearer than ever: how you heat your home now determines how exposed you are to rising costs.

Gas prices are going up by around 8% this quarter. Electricity, on the other hand, is up by less than 1% - helped by the government's removal of VAT from electricity bills, which has largely offset the wholesale increase.

🔹 Gas-heated homes: taking the brunt of this increase
🔹 Heat pump homes: running on electricity, largely shielded from this round of rises
🔹 Add solar + battery: generate and store your own electricity, reducing exposure further still

This isn't a one-off. It's part of a pattern - every price cap update tends to widen the gap between gas and electricity costs, and it keeps landing in favour of homes that have already made the switch.
