Today marks Global Accessibility Awareness Day.
It’s a day that encourages people to think about how accessible the world around us really is. It highlights how small, practical changes can make everyday spaces easier and safer for everyone to use.
Accessibility also applies to the physical places people move through each day. Paths, entrances and shared areas all play a part in how confidently someone can get around.
One project that reflects this is the work at St James’ Church, where we improved the external areas to create a safer, more accessible space for visitors.
By renewing the pathways, levelling surfaces and upgrading the surrounding layout, the aim was to make the church grounds easier to navigate for people of all ages and abilities.
